So Adam Elliot and Tyrone Peachy are our signings for next year it seems. And Jackson Hastings. Thoughts? Excited?

Read a zerotackle article saying Elliot was a good fit for tigers but really, couldn't see why. Maybe Leichhardt ovals toilets need a new predator to make bathroom breaks more exciting.

Geez things really must have gone south for Liddle since re/signing in June for the next two years
"I’m really excited to be able to stay on with the club,” Liddle said.
“It’s been a bit of an up-and-down ride for myself personally, but I’ve loved being at Wests Tigers and really feel a part of what we’re building here.
“I’m determined now to make sure I continue to deliver my best footy each and every week and help bring success to the club, its members and its fans.”
Tigers coach Michael Maguire praised Liddle for his work ethic and said he was pleased to see the hooker remain with the club.
“Jacob has had to work really hard over the past few years,” Maguire said, “But he’s got himself now to a point where he has grown a lot as a footballer.
“He also knows where he wants to get to as a player and where he wants this club to be, and I’m looking forward to watching him continue to grow and achieve more in the years to come.”

He is not in the clubs plans.
(Family friend of Liddles, I believe)

I wouldn't be so sure he's here in Round 1.

For once it would be great if the club was talking to a player in his early to mid twenties who is quality, who has zero injury concerns and who has not been sacked by his previous club for off field issues.

Dream on it’s the Weststigers we are talking about, always trying for a miracle signing.

Lucy? Hastings? Maumolo? Gillart? Joffa?

Quick check of the stats see that Liddle and Hodgson both had similar years in terms of output. Both played 20 games. More tries, tackles, runs / run meters and line breaks for Liddle in 10mins less game time. More assists, kicks, passes for Hodgson.

Says it all Hodgson is finished...
..or Liddle is a superstar in the making!
Um...

Given that both were coming off injuries. Ones 25 the other is 30 I’d say there is more upside in keeping Liddle on an individual output basis.

What these stats don’t tell you though is how well the team benefited from either in their respective positions.

In terms of Kicks and Passes.
Tigers were dead last for kicks / kick meters in the comp so Hodgson’s kicking game of would be valuable for us as Liddle kicked twice all year.

Hard to gage service benefits but maybe it could be determined in terms of run meters gained by the forward pack.
Tigers; 15301 off 993 hit ups.
Raiders; 15101 off 1076 hit ups.

Not sure that helps.
Other than that Hodgson was more involved in play with 101 line engagements and 210 pass involvements including 25 dummy half runs.
Liddle comparatively had the run first mentality with 26 line engagements with 131 pass involvements and 70 dummy half runs.

Don't think it's a stat thing
Our team is missing on field leadership- plan and simple
It's a value which only gets measured against the improvement across the whole team - not individual stats
Having a player who doesn't support the coach is not good for anyone.
Also think signing Hodgson brings some creditors the team and can help attract some other quality players
Simpson replaces Hodgson in 2 years time

How would anyone know. Has anyone spoken to him personally? I would say at this stage it’s all a rumour.
The only two reliable sources on here are @cctw and @THE_POM. If they say so, then i will be onboard that he is on the way out.

So why re/sign when he knew Maguire had been extended, and why did the club re/sign him if he is not in their plans. That deal was done in June.
Not questioning you Demps, just throwing out how nonsensical that seems by both Liddle and the club if the chat is true.
