don't care where he goes but logically it is dogs or Canberra it could be gold Coast for all I care

Refer to previous Australian Rugby League Players Award 2000, Current Collective Bargaining Agreement agreed with the Rugby League Players Association, TPAs etc. The market you refer to is the NRL and participating clubs have collectively signed off to operate within a nominated salary cap. Players know the operating constraints before signing a contract. Even in the land of litigation USA, the NFL & NFLPA have agreed to $208.2M salary cap ceiling for 2022 season.

As I said the ARLPA Award 2000 sets out the ***minimum*** salary as does the CBA.

No the market I refer to is ***NOT*** the NRL, that is the whole point. Yes players sign up to a NRL contract under the "nominated" salary cap, so what stops them earning money outside of their Contract with their employer?

The REAL market is a lot wider than the NRL and that is the whole point. What if the Steyne Hotel wants to get Tom Turbo to DJ each saturday night through Summer for $500K? What if Tradie want Munster, JAC and Finucane to advertise their undies or deodorant or whatever the hell they are selling? What if Foxtel wanted Craig Wing to appear on a fashion show.........what regulation stops these guys making $$$.

The team's best performance all year was against Souths with Simpkin playing. Not a coincidence

He was also the one that Burgess ran straight past to score the winning try. Yes great game.

Cini was a "cult hero" after his debut because he didnt screw up and had a mullet.

It was his second game that was a problem.

Are you not referring to the conversation were these people where talking about Simpkin missing a tackle against souths? Or are you just randomly spurting out points?

You acted like I brought that up. I just asked why it was warranted to hate on for him one bad game, while the other is getting a rails run by a section of the forum.

Ok cool, now Im just telling you why they are two completely different scenarios. Giving up faith in Cini has multiple factors to it.. Wheres he gonna play? Fullback? No I think most would rather see Dillon or Laurie there, centre? Pass. Wing? Not quick enough. Simpkin on the other hand, his only competitor is Liddle in this squad, of whom cant pass a ball. Clearly the club see it fit to keep him on given no one has established themselves in that position.

Liddle can't pass a ball? Really? Sorry, I (semi-) respectfully disagree. Liddle is the best hooker in the club, and one of WT best players of 2021. End of story. Simpkin has a lot of improving to do in 2022 to unseat the starting hooker role from Liddle.

Liddle wasn’t consistently one of our best he had good games like everyone else but was never consistent week in and out some games he was gassed after 20 minutes and threw some shocking passes from dummy half that went way forward Simpkin made mistakes too but he hasn’t played 10 NRL games yet Liddle has played 59 games some of those mistakes he made shouldn’t be happening its no wonder why Luciano was mad at him in the off-season before this season started one thing I’ll praise about Liddle is he can run when he’s got space but that’s it

Then why does he want to play NRL? Also I don't think Wests tigers would be interested after the experience they had a couple of years ago with a centre /forward who had a bad neck problem.

That's their playing salary. Not whatever endorsements they can get for use of their image or name for being associated with other products. What you're saying would be like telling Michael Jordan that he could not have made money from Nike for them using his name, image and likeness during his playing career. It is restraint of trade stopping players earning money outside of their playing salary
