Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They haven’t worn our jersey yet.

Clearly they are the first players signed after the Mbye / Reynolds / Packer / BJ Leilua debacles. That money had to go somewhere. Let’s see if the trend continues.
But even if they are poor next year, their best form is not 3-4 years ago. For both I'd argue it was this year, after they had signed with us.

I think Papali’i was better last year and I’ll agree this was API’s best season. These guys are miles ahead of our recent signings I am with you on that. If there’s more to come I’ll eat my words.

Only debuted cos of Covid I think....
Been around forever - Q Cup is where the crappy NSW Cup players go to retire
(Scary how far that comp has dropped)
Depends how far back you’re talking I guess. Selwyn Cobbo came out if there and I’d have him

Watched Panthers GF in cup and their belting of the North Devils
Players that stood out Turuva , Hopgood , Soni Luke , Kurt Fells and the fullback
Isaiah Longi
I assume they all especially Luke and Fells locked up by panthers next year but wondering what's the story with their fullback Longi .He will wait a long time behind Dylan Edwards ?
Does Soni Luke belong in the lament thread ?

If you haven’t noticed all of our marquee signings played at their best 3-4 years before we pick them up. It’s our type.
It is so true!
We are always the signing former marquees either after they have peaked or are just about to.
And on the other end of the scale we sign up players that haven’t completely developed and are not nrl ready.
It really has nothing to do with the players personally but more the value they provide.
Klemmer was a great buy the year he left for Newcastle. Newcastle got his best years.
Tamou the same at Penrith.
BJ at Canberra
Unfortunately I feel Penrith got the best years out of Api because he has come across on big Marquee money where as Ivan got him at a bargin basement price of 450k.
Papali’i is the exception. Though has come down a little after coming off a break out year last year and that trend could continue without the fierce competition for backrow spots in our club and our overall culture.
We need to find the Klemmer before this current Klemmer. In my opinion we’d be better off splitting up the Safiti boys and giving some serious cash to Daniel.
Leinu could be a great get to add some punch to the bench.
Hopefully our own Steffano keeps improving a becomes the Klemmer that first made origin.

Leniu would be my pick out of anyone realistic to join our pack. Frizell also.

He was worse than horrible.
You wouldn't feed him.
He is a fraud.
If Tigers sign him it will be a worse outcome than Ryan O'hara.

Never thought that much of Brown and pretty sure he was the gutless guy mouthing off whilst pretending to be held back against Canberra back in the NYC 20's days.

Sure, he can wind up and run, though one on one tough guy wise is a different story, which even a young Blore showed us and the rest of the footy world.

Pass.

If Penrith are resigning To’a Critchton and Martin it means there has to be collateral somewhere and it may just be Leinu and Stains.
Tuava and Ilongi cover the backs to replace Stains and Smith, Geyer and Blacker cover the middle. They don’t really have a backrow prospect, the Puru bros are a bit light on and Geyer has been converted to a prop. Makes sense to keep Martin. Crichton and To’a on the other hand have replacements. Though you won’t find too many other athletes like Critchton and To’a is an extremely important winger as well.
