I think we need to look at what's in front of us.

If the offer is anywhere near $1.4 mil over 4 years, that's $5.6 million. Apparently the eels offer is slightly over $1 million, let's say $1.1 for arguments sake. That's $4.4 million.

Not signing with the tigers would be leaving roughly $1.6 million on the table which is effectively another contract year for him without even playing it.

If he has not signed that deal, he probably won't coming.

I am fully prepared for the Eels contract extension because it becomes about more than a dollar figure when you're prepared to leave that kind of money on the table. Most of us would have signed on the spot - let's be real.

We need to be down the line talking in detail to our other options already or we have been wasting significant time in locking them up - whoever they are.

FURTHER, regardless of what any journalist writes, we've been in these negotiations up to our eyeballs, and our offer is significantly more appealing with the leading cast of Sheens, Farah and Benji, with the added centre of excellence and already signed marquee players.

Times have changed, we are reinvigorated regardless of Mitchell Moses.

for 2024 onwards
Tigers about $1.35 mill
Dogs about $1.25 mill
Eels about $1.05 mill
Moses won't starve with any of these amounts so I guess he will go where most happy .Maybe wants us to help up the eels offer

He's not a centre, and he's an ordinary 5/8 and he's way too lazy to play second row too.

I think he could be a really good ball playing second rower. In any position he plays you have to add he has to fix his defense first though.

I think he could be a really good running 6. He might be better than Brooks or Laurie at the role but all of them to me would be cut price options.

If I was in MM shoes and his age and having not won a Premiership .....you want to win a premiership in this contract window

So what club wants you or needs you who pay competitive money

Does Trent Robinson think he could be a potential replacement for Luke Keary ???...but at the same time getting around the Parra $$$'s

he can play centre, AD at centre is much better option than Kepoa or Starford.

The worst possible scenario is if we throw obscene amounts of money at him and he comes to us. This will create havoc in our cap for years and forces elite juniors to leave the club because we can't pay them what they are worth.

Again, your numbers appear off, and the numbers have changed very recently so the duration of talks is irrelevant.
From memory (and all this is going off various reports on here, and without knowledge of how much is cap salary/TPA)

Our initial offer (before the salary cap was known) was about 1.25 million, Parra were at 1.05-1.1 mil, so the difference then was roughly 600k over the course of the contract. Not huge given the result of the two sides, we need to offer way more just to have a chance.

Now that the cap is sorted and contracts have risen due to relevant clauses, Moses is already on over a million this season, so all subsequent offers are now rising accordingly. Ours from 1.25mil to perhaps 1.4, Parra will likely have upped their offer to 1.2-1.25 mil. This would have only happened last week, and again the difference over the course of the contract is only 600k, maybe 750k. Considerable difference, but you're comparing 4 years with the spooner to with a grand finalist.

Reports from the parra forum that we've now known gone to 1.5 million, which if so, is probably necessary to increase the gap between our offer and Parra's by a sufficient margin to overlook recent performance. Will they again increase their bid or will they stop negotiating? Once this is known there should be a decision quick smart. If our offer is 4x1.5mil then that's 6million, a bit less if the 1.5 figure is part of a back-ended deal moving from 1.4-1.5. The likelihood is there's now well over a million between our offer and Parra's enough to cause serious deliberation. It shows how much we value him, which is great for his significant ego. But will the lure of more likely short term success render the cash as less significant?

We have Matamua and Faagutu in our grades and tackling is one of the most important requirements of a centre.

And both of them will not come to the Tigers, because they will get very good money from better clubs. Might not be as much as or offer but would be enough to knock us back

If played alongside a very dominant half then he could be an acceptable foil that can chip in here and there. But when he's asked to contribute regularly he struggles.
Second rowers needs to be able to backup effort after effort, in defence and also run aggressively in attack, and have the fitness and motivation to keep doing this throughout the course of a game. He's thus far shown no mongrel in him to suggest he could do this, nor would he want to at his age, but i think that's his best bet as a long term position in the nrl. Potentially like a Wade Graham

What do you mean "again"? I have never posted about these numbers before.

I am going off reported figures from journalists, not forum members who like the rest of us, have little to no idea.

You're also saying "parra will have likely" meaning you are in no position to say I am wrong lol.

I think it's the best way to get our key players on the field. If AD is moved to centre through, I doubt we will have him beyond this year. He'll want the opportunity to pay 5/8th.

Although I think Doueihi could be great for us and will start the year at 5/8th, I agree that this is probably how we end up sometime in the season.

Looking into my crystal ball, if Mitch Moses signs on for 2024, i can see Doueihi signing somewhere else before the end of the season.

Top teams have speed to burn in the halves, eg" Lui, Munster, Hynes, Moses, Brown, Walker, Hunt, DCE etc. Some don't believe there is a correlation between speed and performance, maybe iT's just luck that the top sides, have the quickest halves.!
