Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Of course no one knows that. But I thought he's comments in the media weren't with good intentions. Seems like he demanded to know he'll be the long term 6.

Just my gut feel. Didn't seem like he was for the team.

Potentially explaining why Laurie is training there and we're going hard for mitch.
Yeh I remember that. But have heard the whole "I think my best position is but I'll do whats best for the team "- by stacks of players when they are selected in a non preferred position. Was wondering if there was more out there after that, that I missed.
He will either be in Sheens/Benjis plans or he won't and we know how that usually ends up. So if he gets a crack he better make it count.

I think it's the best way to get our key players on the field. If AD is moved to centre through, I doubt we will have him beyond this year. He'll want the opportunity to pay 5/8th.

1. Staines
4. AD
6. Laurie
7. Brooks
That is the best lineup. If he leaves I understand but it's what's best for the team and Douhie at centre is another attacking threat.

OK , I am calling it , Moses won’t becoming for 2023 no matter what why it goes .
I am also calling it now he won’t be here in 2024 either , and I say this because it appears he is playing the 3 clubs ( eels , dogs and us) off against each other and once he gets the eels or the dogs to a certain amount he will go in that direction. Because if it is true we have offered him $1.4 million a season for 4 years and he hasn’t jumped on that then he isn’t coming out way .
Sheens it’s time to activate plan B
Just my thoughts , time to throw that money at another target
No idea why people would think Parra would let him go a year early.
.
Not sure what plan B is. Not many halves around.

Like in the past we have been pulled along to create competition to get the best result for MM with his preferred club or worse case his next preferred club…neither ever being us.

Any auctioneer will tell you, you only ever need two serious bidders to get a good result, but three will get you a brilliant result. MM never had any ethics, to him it’s a win win, he gets way over the odds from Parra or maybe the Dogs and he kicks us in the guts again.

Ken is quality.

Top finisher ,scores off bombs saves tries, even on 1 leg.

A good acquisition from Madge.

He is a weapon.
He is a weapon 10m out from the opponents tryline, or working it off his own line. He's a liability in every other context.
As is Nof.
And to a lesser extent same as Naden, Kepaoa, Toa etc

None of them can defend, at all. All of them are slow. None of them can beat a man other than through trying to power over the top of them.
The Roosters version of Ken is Tupou. Who's fast enough to run length of the field, or chase an opponent down. That's the difference between our backs and other, more successful clubs. Our backs are one dimensional, good clubs have players who contribute all over the field, in attack and defence.

No need. Worst scenario is we squeeze more out of the eels cap. win win.
That's not win win, we lose in that scenario.

We will still not have a kicker or organiser. And it will be yet another failed attempt to sign a big name player. Each time we fail it gets harder to sign the next one.

This is the way I see it going as well. In the Moses camp he’ll have people telling him to hold out as long as possible and get the $$. I’m sure he and every club would want to him sign and seal his future and he is contracted to Parra for 23…so he doesn’t have to sign anywhere until November

He's looked good there when he's played. Plus, having him on the field gives us an ability to carry 4 forwards on the bench. Less need for a utility who can jump into the spine.
Has he? Not in my opinion, and that of many others. His defence in the centres is appalling, bottom 4 centres in the NRL defensively. In attack he was hot and cold, brilliant then invisible from game to game. Not good enough

He's not a centre, and he's an ordinary 5/8 and he's way too lazy to play second row too.

This. We would have a edge player on the bench and we would move 1 wider. Or, if we have 2 middles and an edge, would also leave a spot for Simpkin.
But why would we waste arguably one of our better signings at centre when he is far better at 11/12 and then his replacement is at a sub standard level in that same position

Better have Talau at 14 or Douehi at 14 and bring them into a centre role

Why weaken one of the most important positions defensively in our side ..especially a position we historically have been weak at ??

Sorry Hammer usually I agree with you ..this time sorry mate ...your wide of the mark

He did score quite a few tries att centre though. If he sorts out his defence I'm happy for him there.
.
I really don't know if we will keep him though. Like you said in and out of games. Attack is hot and cold as well.

I think we need to look at what's in front of us.

If the offer is anywhere near $1.4 mil over 4 years, that's $5.6 million. Apparently the eels offer is slightly over $1 million, let's say $1.1 for arguments sake. That's $4.4 million.

Not signing with the tigers would be leaving roughly $1.6 million on the table which is effectively another contract year for him without even playing it.

If he has not signed that deal, he probably won't coming.

I am fully prepared for the Eels contract extension because it becomes about more than a dollar figure when you're prepared to leave that kind of money on the table. Most of us would have signed on the spot - let's be real.

We need to be down the line talking in detail to our other options already or we have been wasting significant time in locking them up - whoever they are.

FURTHER, regardless of what any journalist writes, we've been in these negotiations up to our eyeballs, and our offer is significantly more appealing with the leading cast of Sheens, Farah and Benji, with the added centre of excellence and already signed marquee players.

Times have changed, we are reinvigorated regardless of Mitchell Moses.

Trying to interpret the latest BUZZ GOSSIP regarding MM its like this
for 2024 onwards
Tigers about $1.35 mill
Dogs about $1.25 mill
Eels about $1.05 mill
Moses won't starve with any of these amounts so I guess he will go where most happy .Maybe wants us to help up the eels offer
