Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All the players look trim & it wasn’t something i’m a fan of. Most games last year we were poor on first contact & we’d lose a lot of the collision. I thought in the off season we’d be bulking the players up not making them skinnier. Don’t see how Jack Bird will be playing 13 looking that trim he’s going to get monstered in the forwards.
Bird at 13 gives us the option of getting the ball to the edges quickly, meaning opposing defences will not have the luxury of condensing their defence.
It’s a slight concern from a defensive point of view, but I can’t imagine him playing more than a maximum of 40-50 minutes, therefore it should allow a bigger bodied 13 to be on the field at various stages.

Yeah right? I used to play poker at the casino a lot, i don’t play tournaments by choice, too much luck involved. But you don’t win a Casino tourney without having a fair idea. I’ll put that in the poker memory bank in case I come across him.
Cash games are where it's at, especially on weekends with the drunk crowd. I used to play at The Star alot. At the 1/2 table, biggest pot I won was $800+. Knew exactly what hand he had and took all his chips. Nothing beats the feeling of racking in a huge pot.

Yep, Friday and Saturday nights, start about 10pm or so on $5 or $10 tables, playing with intoxicated fish. Start with $400 and leave when 1k in front. There was one period I did this for 8 weekends straight.

They didn’t initially. It wasn’t until Alex McKinnon broke his neck that the spotlight got shone back onto Dwyer who said the club hadn’t done anything for him. Not long after that he miraculously had a role on the coaching staff.
Yea, that figures.

I had heard he had some post role....

It's Taniela Tuiaki who I really regretted to learn that the Club had stiffed. I loved to see him play and seek the line. Arguably our best winger ever and we had so many damn good wingers.

Considering we are supposed to be development club... We shouldbe developing

We'll... Time will tell but that is a concern if we are to restrict post contact metres

Hope Benji doesn't think we can run around them again
Didn't Betsy say in a pod on the tiger's website a while ago that they had identified the contact metres concern and were going to work on it in the off season.

High roller brother. I'd love to smoke a doobie and play poker with ya, you'd take all my money haha. I never got into Omaha you played it?

GI appt I think is great. I would like to think even though he is the assistant coach for nrlw, he would be attending first grade and reserve grade training sessions , possibly even flegg and matts. Young centres, fullbacks, wingers… what a resource to tap into for them, to look up to for his onfield performances/experience , message it also sends to indigenous youths in our system and beyond. Attract others to the club ? Time will tell, i like the direction it’s going.
Didn’t he spend lots of time with bula , can’t remember seeing any improvement in his game , just because he was a class players doesn’t make him the right person to pass on anything , many have tried and many have failed

Money won is twice as sweet as money earned (Color of Money).

Did he spend a lot of time with Bula ? I wouldn’t know - do you ? Seen a timesheet ? Be positive for once , you just might surprise yourself .
