Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In all our games we’ve struggled in the forwards for large patches. Without May we’d be cooked.
Several things...

Firstly, we HAVE May. So what's your point?

Secondly, Pole is averaging 146m a game himself and big minutes.

Thirdly, I said 'out of the backfield', referring to out first 2/3 tackles, taken by our outside backs, who are proving very effective.

And finally, I'd argue that your entire premise that 'In all our games we’ve struggled in the forwards for large patches' isn't based in reality at all. And if it is, then why not suggest a forward...?

It’s called a forward pack.

May is leading us well.

Pole has improved but I’d argue still has a way to go in terms of consistency.

Then it falls away.

I was talking about go forward and wingers play a role in that. Turuva first class. Skelton is now looking lame.

Any club administrator with a brain would sign To’o.

We also need forwards and there’s no rule that says you can’t have both.

I have a Galvin theory and it’s the only one I can make fit to make sense of this situation. He will be at the Eels. He and his family are life long Parra fans. So much so he left Wests juniors to go to Parra. They didn’t rate him so he want back to West. Now Parra see he can play they want him. He can’t just come out and say it’s always been my dream to play for Parra and I only want to go there, otherwise they low ball him on dollars, so his grub of manager manufactures a story to get him the dollars at Parra and an early release. I can’t make anything else make sense.

So Galvin’s replacement looks like Mikey Lewis from the SL! This guy is the current Man of Steel! Anyone who’s watched him, knows he’s a bloody good player. Just a typical tough bastard from Hull. He will fit very well in this team 🔥🤝🏾

Read the damn article before spewing this nonsense. All that old drunk, Tony Adams aka the Mole, said was that we could be looking at him as a replacement. Not that we were looking at him or had even inquired about him.

The reading comprehension on this forum is unbelievable sometimes 🤦‍♂️

We don't need a replacement for LG. He's here until end 2026.

The entire reason I responded was that you said -

'our yardage sets remain problematic'.

What is a 'yardage set' then?

We're 2nd in post contact metres and 5th in all run metres.

To'o (who is also injured atm- your current criticism of Skelton) would be great.

But our current side IS working as a pack. Extremely well. Especially considering their age/perceived quality. It doesnt mean we can't still upgrade, but you upgrade in areas of need, especially when you've likely got options as to who you receive in return.

You wanna go Penrith? Cool, they can have a quote 'generational talent', we'll have Liam Martin, thanks.

Lewis is signed until 2028... The Mole just said that he would be a good replacement, not that he is coming.

I doubt we go into the market for a half at all. The club will go all in on Fainu and still have Sullivan contracted for next year. Not to mention Doueihi is an option.

Absolutely no need to look for a replacement.

As @Demps said - we already have someone most of us wanted to replace him anyway.

Our money best spent elsewhere, like a 2RF or two.

I don’t take a lot out of stats, they can give you a false reading.

It’s blatantly obvious the better sides will bully us. It took us 25 minutes to get over a weak Parra pack. The Dolphins were all over us early.

I think we’re essentially agreeing anyway. Liam Martin and To’o would both improve us, but it’s fantasyland stuff.

I Feel sorry for Galvin that the senior people in his corner have exposed him to this shit show.
It's fine to believe in yourself and have conviction, but he's not played an nrl game yet with any real stakes. When that blowtorch gets applied we will see if he really is the next Joey Johns or just another Ash Taylor.
Going to Parra as their marquee man would have to be the dumbest decision he could make.
I don't feel sorry for him, he's 19 Iv met 19 year olds working 3 jobs with 2 kids. This 19 year old can't even call Anasta at 360 to say I don't agree with what my manager says I'm grateful to the Tigers and supporters for everything, I'm not happy about what he has said about my coach so I'll be looking at using another manager as this one doesn't represent me, I still will not be re-signing with the Tigers, but won't allow a managers personal views attempt to damage the club who have provided every opportunity I have today.
Kid can't even do that, his line, I'll leave it up to my manager. I wish I was a jurno so when he or his father say were leaving everything to his manager I'd love to reply, are you that useless, let the poor woman he marries one day know, he leaves everything to his manager.

Liam Martin would be so damn perfect for this team.

They can, I agree, but they can also put context around the eye test being misleading. More often than not, stats will correct a misheld opinion, rather than the alternative.

I lean on them to mostly reinforce or correct what my eyes observe, I'm not immune from reassessing a lot after a first watch-through of games (I generally watch at least twice).

As for the other sides bullying us, we'll see. We're still a work in progress, but we're growing, and as far as the forward pack goes, we're closing the gap on the best teams in the comp in that area.

Oh, and we've barely played well yet so far.... That's a positive.
