Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I disagree.

Reynolds is exactly the type of organiser a rebuilding side needs. Having a steering wheel is one of the first pieces. The Dogs only kicked on, for example, when they landed on Sexton being their short to mid-term solution.

The past weekend aside, this club has barely put together a solid 80 minutes this year, with one of the major criticisms being direction as the combinations figure themselves out.

Adam Reynolds at the right price (6/700k) for a year, will kick you around the field. Will take the pressure off Jarome's kicking game and would turn most 4's into 6's. It would provide a default 1st gear for when the side is lost in games and, instead of going backwards, you could lean on Reynolds to march the forwards downfield and find some space with the kick.

It's not the worst idea.
Didn't Luai come to the Tigers to explicitly play half ?? That release might loom large in his rear view mirror if it's not to be ?

Taylan May, Hopgood and KPP is an exciting upgrade to me and addresses some immediate issues.
There may even be some bargain bin buys like Jayden Hunt or AJ Kapaoa which could surprise.
Love an incoming signings week if we are indeed in one.
Hope they were signed before the Storm game.
Although they will probably think this will be a walk up start for them after seeing that capitulation?

Tigers web site posting junior city country etc , probably means any signing now will be announced next week after this weekend game , and with the posts club puts up after the game it would be late next week , probably Friday

I don't know either.

Might have come from @Jedi_Tiger speculating this morning in reply to me?🤷‍♂️
Well I presume he was speculating?

I agree, Hopgood was good for the Eels last year, was even talked about being a SOO option for QLD. He has dropped off this year for some reason. We all know Galvin wont see out his contract till end of 2026. I'd take him and maybe a good junior in a swap for Galvin...
I like the good junior swap ---------but they tend to return to their roots?

Played in game 1 (or was 18th man) and was dropped wasn't he?
Went backwards ever since...

Truth be told, he probably made it last year based on previous form.

He's played fullback and wing for Wests and looked promising in attack though suspect in defence. But admittedly the team is devoid of any defensive structure or resolve.
I don't understand this, surely as a club we can't move forward very far until we have a competitive reggies team, and I'm not just talking about the players in the team but more importantly their attitude. We have conceded the most points by far in NSW Cup, and have done for a number of years, this needs to change, and fast.

yes mate just speculating

It stated Richo expects Reynolds will get re-signed by the Broncos for another year and if

Unless Doueihi is in our plans for next season we desperately need a goal kicker as part of our recruitment.
I’m a Doueihi fan, but I don’t think he’s done enough as yet this season to be given another contract on the money he’s looking for which I assume is 400k plus when you consider there is potential to sign other outside backs such as Taylan May, Dominic Young and possibly Zac Lomax.
And yes I agree we need forwards more than we do backs, but I cannot help that think we could have a much more potent backline if it included two of the three named above. It would be great to have the size, speed and athleticism to score long range tries like all other NRL clubs do.

Didn’t Lomax just sign at Parramatta? Why are they letting him go already ? He is one of their best …

We also need three forwards … that’s where you win games …. Although you can lose games in the backs with crappy defence …. We know all about that over the years ..

I’m jumping on the back of other comments that we could possibly ask for Lomax in return for Galvin in 2026.
Would the Eels consider it ? Maybe not, but they are going to be desperate to land Galvin by 2026, so we might as well push for someone who could be very valuable to us in return.
Lomax publicly stated he went to the Eels to play as a centre and already finds himself on the wing, so it’s possible he’s not happy with that.
I think most people, myself included think he is a better winger, but would he be a better right centre option for us than Starford To’a ? I like To’a and he’s having a breakout season, but he’s not as big, not as fast, not as skilful and not as good under a high ball as what Lomax is, plus he can’t goal kick, therefore it’s fairly safe to say Lomax would be a big upgrade at right centre and partnered with Taylan May at left centre we would certainly have a dangerous looking backline.

Yeah ..give me Lomax …but I suspect ithats another pipe dream … I got this nagging feeling that people are going to be disappointed In what the swap return is for Galvin..
