I'm all for Doueihi dropping down in the pecking order, but who else can kick? We can't rely on Api as the alternate. We are already exhausting him with 80 minutes rather than spelling him. We need to recruit / find within our ranks a good player as well as a great kicker. Also wouldn't it be handy to have a back rower that could also take on the hooker role to give Api a break? Remember Ray Brown in the Wests Magpie's in the late 70's before Manly pinched him?

His replacement (Makasini) is a kicker...just needs another 18months.

I’m guessing the Peter Taateo signing (from the Raiders) will also be announced this week.

Development contract this year and a Top 30 deal next year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets an NRL game this year off the bench — maybe even in the next few weeks.

I was impressed with him yesterday in KOE. Made an impact in both attack and defence, and showed nice footwork before the line.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Mason is upgraded to top 30 tomorrow + year extension announced. Thus opening up a development contract for Taateo immediately.

I don't know. For us - that guy with dreads that roosters booted back to Newcastle would be a marquee signing for us - and - for most every other club. Not for Politis. He's at peak now Politis cause Gould, his apprentice, right now - has the spot light.

There seems to be a lack of good edge forwards at the moment. I look around and there are only like 12-13 genuine guns. A lot of guys playing on the edge really should be playing in the middle, like Souths have discovered with Koloamatangi.
