Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I dunno maybe . Maybe api said he was going to move on at the end of this contract , and now he doesn’t want to .
I still think the rapid rise of Hayward is a variable . Even if it’s to offer an alternate path should TDS want to go .
His management arnt stupid though . Another year , and now TDS is starting 9 in KOE , and in and out of first grade either starting or off the bench . By that point Hayward would be well and rely entrenched in the KOE team , and heaping pressure on TDS / turning heads .
The kid is rising and rising fast. .His arrivsl
In Jersey flegg along with the sacking of thier coaching staff , has led to a rapid form reversal in that team , and he’s front and centre in everything that’s good about them at the moment .
It's all possible.

TDS is a must keep imo
But it's not looking good

Reading the tea leaves and digesting what others have said, it would appear the club and TDS decided to see if they could get a loan deal up that possible involved a player swap..Knights being the obvious target. The market place than started offering TDS starting roles and a bucket more cash and what young kid would not be interested.

Seems to me what started out as a good fix for both TDS and the club has backfired on the club but not TDS. It still has me puzzled why we would release him before the end of June deadline if now there is nothing in it for the club. I would have thought the club could have worked out a solution that both Api and TDS could both shared the no9 role.

Anyway next few days all should be revealed

We've backed Api and I get it....

But, TDS should've been made to feel important too. You know how fragile some egos are. It probably could've been handled better.

It'll be a shame.
I don’t know what the club has to do to let the kid know he’s the future . Like what more do they need to do ? Seriously …
He can’t tackle for 80 mins in the front line at the moment , so any team who is going to run him out there , will need to put the best defensive middles they can find around him . Which is why Benji said just wait for your body to grow and develop , they’ve told him that . He was always supposed to spend this season as the 9 in KOE and dominate that level . He’s halfway through and like “I’m too good for this “ . Yea no shit bro ! Thats the point . But you’re not good enough defensively for the nrl yet . You’re stuck between the grades . Just like liddle was before you . Simpkin was before you .
The clubs obviously made promises and reneged on them . I that’s true . But for good reason IMO . Tallyn isn’t there physically for nrl yet . Another offseason of weights and he probably will be . I don’t get why this is happening now even if api resigns for another year .
There’s every chance Tallyn takes his spot next year and api is coming off the bench … but no way on earth is Tallyn anywhere near Apis level right now . And it’s nonsense to even argue that point. .

I've seen a few group photos 📸

It's Jordan Miller + Galvin + TDS & the Lualilii bros.

Two gone already and one appears likely the same way.

More names, u say.....
was gonna reply to ur other post about resignings and suggest the Lualilii bros. I guess that answers that.

Got some crumbs yesterday but been super busy. Again, take with a grain of salt but he's been pretty reliable so far...

Apparently, the whole TDS wants out thing is BS. The club sat with him months ago. He wants to stay and they want to keep him BUT he (ie. his manager) thinks he needs to have more 80-minute performances or lose his conditioning/fitness/marketability. Thus, the potential Harry Grant style swap deal. Could be for the rest of the year or for next year. But other clubs are offering more... Watch this space.

Also, looks like Doueihi is gone. Rejected our lowball offer and has got himself a rep that Benji does not want to deal with (read I. Moses). Think he will go to highest bidder or potentially extend one year with us then go to Perth.

Finally, the Adam Reynolds deal was closer than reported. But we're still in the market for big names (whatever that means -- but I'd say experienced marquee signings). Not sure who are available though which makes me think there are some chats happening behind the scenes. But he's adamant we are after some BIG FISH. Fingers crossed if true

I think there's a way we can make this work.

Penrith did this, with Mitch Kenny coming through.

Api would play in the 9 jersey but from the bench.
Love to see a way where we can bring this in down the track with TDS.

I'm still hopeful a deal can be done where we keep both.
Hi Demps
The difference I see with TDS is that Mitch Kenny is a great defensive no:9 and started in those games in the softening up period allowing API to come on fresh against tired forwards.
Looking at TDS he is not that Mitch Kenny type of player.

Maybe not play Api for 80mins each game ?
After all he didn’t play 80mins per game at any of his previous clubs.
We were doing fine and winning our fair share of games when Tallyn was regularly coming on for Api and making an impact.
Our results have not been so good since Benji decided against that plan.

No doubt. Api is our guy.

But we've all seen how much these juniors have been gassed up. They think they're superstars already. Seeing Galvin at the dogs chewing gum and dapping up his mate Vella... who are youuuuu 😂😂 TDS might be thinking he's that guy too.

Interesting times ahead.

100%
Two very much different players

But there was a plan in place.
Obviously it's not ideal for us to start TDS over Api currently but having him sit on the bench and play 0 minutes isn't ideal either.

TDS is an impact hooker for us currently and when he comes on, something always seems to happen. Except we've moved away from that plan and play Api for 80 which we've seen for a while now isn't as effective as it could be.

Not at all.

Luke is young and working on his game.
There's still hope.

I think Kitt could be managed better.
Another who sat on the bench and played 0 minutes.

Think he could be better managed in cup also.
Miller TDS Laulilii’s all have the same manager … let’s pray that’s not an issue for us

The problem, is, I don’t think the club is coming from a position of strength.
We are going to lose the kid, get nothing in return and probably not find out why.
I still want to read Lachlans dossier. There was something within it that had admin shitting their pants.

Why not loan to manly for 18 months. Manly get a good hooker until Ashton Large is ready & Tigers get a player developing in 1st grade who comes back a way better player ready to take over. Seems like a win for everybody, that is under the assumption he does want to be a Tiger long term

I dunno bro ! I love the confidence . I think think you need that irrational confidence to supplant legends and make these nrl teams . I also think ehat was said on tigers faithful podcast about Benji pumping up thier tyres and alienating the older boys last year , being pretty accurate . I think Benji probably fudged up , along with sheens , because he was the recipient of all that love when he was a kid , and Robbie and whoever .
I feel like Benji is Rocky Balboa in rocky 4 and all these kids are Tommy , who he thinks are just like him , only they were nothing like him … and he had to learn a lesson .
Maybe Galvin is getting knocked out on the front steps of concord ima couple of months in the rain hahaha .
I’m joking but not really … I do think that sheens mcdonell and Benji handled this generation wrong . They still have a chance to salvage it though . Luke and Mason are still here so 2 of the 3 Aus schoolboys and TDS is as of right now still here . I really hope it’s just itchy feet . And impatience …. And I’m completely wrong about everything .
But I just know if Moses is the most treacherous manager in the game Tartak is only a few seconds behind him… he’s not exactly known for being straighty 180 . Plus Gus and that Vella F-wit have all been in these kids ear, along with that traitor Galvin …
