Not only this but supporting the broncos with their 4 first grade halves on low wages, then the rooters and dogs with their fake salary cap. Game is getting worse under this horse tool not better!

How do you build on that?

Id love to be able to somehow use this to our advantage but I cant see how....the only slight positive is our first opponent will only have trial game footage of us from 3 or 4 weeks earlier to study

Don’t know mate. It was making me ill.
They lost me at he is getting all the international games and 2 trial game. I’m guessing that’s 5 off his 10. That’s just BS. Especially trials.

Ben Hunt too. Although I have more sympathy here "hey I am returning to my home club"...

TLDR the Donkeys won with 2x 1m Halfbacks that they rostered on 500k.
The club is stupidly rich and we really have needed 3 Brisbane teams for a long time.

Man … no one was paying hunt any money to be a halfback . And Reynolds got less because his hamstring is 1 sprint away from tearing off the bone for good . Whilst I do think it’s unders by 150-200k in Reynolds case , the stink around hunt was like an old man with bowel issues . It reeked ! Ezra man is on 900k .
Where they got lucky is not having to pay an edge forward elite money . They a whole bunch of dudes elevate thier game . Riku for example was being shopped , same as Hetherington . And Willison took a leap as well .

Yeah, 2 byes 1st round over 3 years just stinks and I don't care how those D heads at the NRL can justify it.

There's a distinct disadvantage copping it the 1st game of the season that we all know is used by all teams to blow away the cobwebs, it's like the rest of the competition gets a head start.

Plus, what you guys have already said what happens if injuries hit and you are sweating on the bye for some recovery time.
For a team like us hopefully improving it could be the difference between making the top 8 or to the disappointment of the forum missing it again.

We lost 2 of 3 games after the bye round last year....So Put the bye anywhere you like, we don't play well after a bye round.. better to miss round 1 before we go off on a 5 game winning streak to start the season aye😵‍💫

So basically the same ratio as the rest of the season, but that isn't really the point of the anger.

What happens if you get it in week 2 or 3 ? How is that magically better ??

Getting it in round 1 is when you don't really need it. You're not recovering from
an NRL match ( like you would be in rd 2 or 3 ). I'm sure the players and staff would prefer
the bye after any NRL match rather than in rd 1. The first rd generally teams are blowing the cobwebs
out, gain match conditioning and getting combo's going which can start off clunky. I'd prefer to
play one of the TOP teams, hope to catch them off guard and/or get them out of the way early. Sets
the standards. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks like that. The only benefit for a bye in
rd 1 is the obvious 2 points that everyone gets eventually.

Parra and Dragons are both interested. Unsure on us as a club but given the history of Keon with both Benji and Richo wouldn’t be surprised at all if we’ve picked up the phone.

He completes the puzzle for us as a football team imo and we have plenty of cap space to afford Keon and then some so can’t see why people would be against it.
