Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Great news

Re the 9 position, I wonder if the Dolphins would get in the way of a brother/brother coaching scenario if JMK wanted to come and play under his brother.

He would be good coming off the bench for Api, offers versatility and addresses our desperate need for a 9.

If we picked up his contract, he would come off contract at the same time as Api.

In the event there is any legs to the Api to Chiefs a season early rumor, then Haywood can interchange with JMK in 28' and take over the reigns in 29'.

Plath is playing pretty good footy for them atm but he can play in multiple spots. Not sure they’d be willing to let JMK go.

But! If they did wow he’d be great. Very underrated at nine plus the family connection. having a genuine option to give api a rest during games will be key to keeping him at his best for the remainder of his contract.

I get playing with your brother, however brothers as coach/player is a bit risky. A father can coach his kid, as one is the authority figure by default however even that is fraught with risk (Flanagans) however brothers in a player coach situation could be disastrous.

Dont agree. I think Benji wouldnt bring him here if it wouldnt work and there was respect. Also, who is going to go harder on you then your older brother?

That's why I'm saying he wouldn't bring him here and JMK wouldn't come because they probably know it will not work. JMK had chances to come and play for his brother he went to the dolphins and stayed there when he extended mid 2024 till 2028. Benji was head coach in 2024.

Yeah he would be great … seems to be playing most weeks for the Dolphins though .. so they probably aren’t letting him go … even if he wants too leave

You might be surprised what’s on offer … alternatively fly some in… probably won’t be on their dime
No mate, I pretty well know what’s on offer( don’t ask me how I know, I just do) but the fly in scenario quite possible. I imagine some smart entrepreneur already looking at that plus “ other required items”. You folks can fill in the gaps !

I guess it shows that Luai is more of a mercernary player than some at the Tigers. I'm really happy of the players that have re-signed with the Tigers and if they get Sam and Latu? I will be over the moon. All the re-signed players have bought into Benji's vision.
I will happily send Luai away next week if it means we keep all our guys off contract 2027 (2026 off contract group are asssss)

You think they should be able to build a good team around the players that have re- signed plus the Fainus and hopefully Maka within the next year or so … I like their forwards … need a bit more depth … Assume someone is working on filling a couple of holes in the backline

Great suggestion and something which crossed my mind too, according to Manase Fainu's cellmate, he didn't keep in shape, so I don't think he'd be a realistic option for the bench hooker spot.
