We’re going to continue with latu or javon aswell, and we even tried a few times with Benji back in the day. It will work one day maybe in 2050 but it will work eventually

I cant see how this would be possible, yes, we are paying some freight on Luai next yr, we have Bula on 900k, Terell on $900k and then it goes down from there, we don't have any halves on more than $600k (next yr, not counting Averillo as he is a centre) so where have we tied up all the money? If i look at most other teams they have multiple players on big money, just look at what Knights have tied up in ponga and brown, throw in Best, Dom young, an origin back rower, saifiti, Frizell (currently), I wont even mention the Roosters and Bunnies, even Dogs have Burton, Kikau, Galvin, Crichton, Thomson and now preston on big dollars.

Guys like Teig Wilton would surely be looking for starting spots, rather than depth.

Another good 2nd row would make the world of difference to our forward pack. It would open up the option to move Sam up front or to lock. Twal to prop maybe. Our forward pack versatility would be mouth watering.

Why do they keep doing it ? Because most halfbacks coming through aren’t near nrl quality , so teaching an athletic specimen how to use their head seems to be path with the most chance of success .
Think about it . All the hundred of thousands of 17-22 year olds who came through the ranks in the past 3-4 years … and there’s literally 3 players who you’d say are nrl quality halves 💯 in that age group. And that doesn’t include guys like Latu , Javon and Mitch woods . That’s literally sanders Katoa and Harrison .
That’s 5 age groups . And I reckon if you expanded it to 25 there’s what maybe 3-4 more . Pezet and sexton walker and Boyd
It’s like finding a needle in a haystack and teams like the eels , manly , Melbourne who have no clear succession path , Walsh has been meh in nrl , need to move quick. Because the next great nrl half … is probably 18-21 and toiling in NSW cup like Tanah Boyd was
