He's my first choice signing but apparently the NRL have refused to register him. Surely with the situation we are in the Tigers could mount a decent case to get him back into the game. He would be ideal pick up at a reasonable price.

Yes it seems a bit ridiculous doesn't it. Unlike some of those other players Carney has only ever hurt himself and his image with his silly off field actions. Unfortunately, he keeps repeating those offences and that's why the NRL wont register him. The peeing in the mouth image was just the latest in a long line of public stupidity from Todd.

Unfortunately the club should have read the signs better.
Strike much earlier and signed a few good players before this broke in papers.
It's going to be really hard from this point on.
We will need to manage our expectations, be patient and stay loyal…. and it may not be possible no matter how good a coach we have.

People on wests magpies side of the ledger have been through this sort of thing before and never recovered since coach Masters era in the 80s.

You never know miracles do happen but some of the wish lists on here are just that I suppose.

Except this time we have cap space. I am looking forward to some interesting signings in the coming months.

Yes because was the only thing Carney did wrong :unamused: Oh thats right it wasn't. It was only his 76th offence, not to mention the things the clubs covered up. I suspect if you ask a few Canberra board members, they would tell you a few stories.

There was once incident in Goulburn where toddy came out of the rsl club pissed off his face, decided it would be fun to jump across about half dozen cars bonnets. Witnessed it with my own eyes. Never made the news.

Perhaps one benefit in terms of recruiting some unproven players is that we would almost be able to guarantee them a shot in 1st grade. I do not see many positions that we will have a great deal of depth in.

We some sort of strike player at 6 or 1\. I know Albert Kelly just resigned but i suspect there would be a clause that if an NRL club came along he could leave. Plays 5/8 and fullback.

Im just not sure Reynolds is worth 850k.

Widdop confirmed re-signed by Dragons this morning, 4 years reported $3.6M = $900K p.a. Wonder where Dragons got the money to up the offer so significantly?

I'd imagine that means Dugan will be looking for a new club.

Yeh I know a few of the stories that never made the media. Im comfortable with the NRL's decision on this one.

I agree King Sirro 850k is a lot of coin. I would pay 650 for him and no more but unfortunately I think it will take some stupid money to get him here if we want him bad enough

I'd take Reynolds for a few years at $500-$600k. He'd go well with Brooksy I think

He's the type of player you want at the club - passionate, wears his heart on his sleeve and gives his all for the team.
