Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Packer would be great. Paasi would be another nice addition to the forward pack.

Packer is the key signing we need he has great line speed and dominates tackles. Also has one of the quickest play the balls in the NRL. Would stiffen up our middle with Matulino which is why we get burnt on the edges.
Ava, Woods are below par with line speed and dominating the ruck.

I'd love Packer, Paasi, Fonua, Milne, Ferguson, LoLo, Naera out of the free agents out there.

X2!!

If we can somehow manage to get Packer, a pairing of Matulino & Packer is arguably better than the Pairing of Woods & Ava.

Individually i dont think either Matulino or Packer is better than Woods but overall those two would improve the team as a whole and id say we'd need to sign another decent front rower also doesnt have to be a world beater just another bus passenger.

What happened to Kevin Locke? Was in warriors grandfinal side in 2011

Was dropped to reggies when the Warriors signed Tomkins. Then went to the UK.

He signed a train and trial contract with Manly late last year but was released. Now plying his trade in QLD Cup.

What ever happened to Delouise Hoeter? Watching him in the Qld v Nsw residents origin game. He's playing pretty good

Yeah I'm watching the same game… and Dylan Edwards looks the goods also his opposite no.1 Jahrome Hughes looks a great prospect as well.

I think Hoeter is playing in the Qld cup

All three players will be solid signings. I don't think we can expect to be signing world-beaters with every signing.

Thompson signing will be for depth and will be a much better 'depth player' than Rankin and/or Justin Hunt. He has proved himself many times in First Grade for the Dogs and is very safe on the wing defensively and under the high ball.

Tui when in form can be a match winner and has the skills to make something out of nothing. I think like the suggestions, he needs time to focus on one position consistently week in and week out. This will benefit his made immensely. Will allow him to focus on the little things in his game and with that the confidence in his ability.

Fonua is a great signing. Surprisingly good under the high ball and is a destructive runner of the football. Defensively I recall him being solid.

If they are on cheapish sort of money, they will be great additions to the team.

Thanks for that. Good player when he was at the Warriors.

I thought he was just about the dominant player for stinging tackles and quick play the balls in the test.

He's up there with McLean from Melbourne.
The prop starting with Packer always looks like a world beater as he takes the tough runs and dominates physically in the ruck with the ball and without. The bloke is over 120kgs with a motor so physically stronger than most props. Both Matulino and Vaughn from STGi are good examples of players who benefit from Packer.

Marsters was super impressive on the weekend (yes, against a questionable standard, but his attitude was first class for a young fella playing all over the park), and I'd give him a go in the centres round one next year. One side having Idris, Suli and Fonua with the other being Lawrence, Marsters and Nofo would be a massive upgrade. Still unsure of our forwards but with Ava gone I wouldn't say no to Packer.

1\. Lolohea
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Marsters
4\. Suli
5\. Fonua
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. Matulino
9\. McIlwrick
10\. Packer
11\. Lawrence
12\. Idris
13\. Taylor
14\. McQueen
15\. Aloiai
16\. Sue
17\. Felise/Tatola/Twal/Liddle

McQueen isn't coming to the Tigers as a bench player.

McQueen came to us for money and will do whatever we need him to.

Yep and what we need him to do is to stand next to Luke Brooks for 80 mins in the backrow - Anyone who doesent think he will start is crazy but especially not behind a backrow of Lawrence and Idris
