Not sure if already mentioned, but on talking sport last night, it was said that the tigers are signing Blake Ferguson. Not sure if a good signing or not, I suppose he is a good solid rep player. Would bring size and some speed to the backline.

Yes I was wondering where all the money is coming from also! Pretty sure Bird is the only one they're losing. Another one of those clubs that seem to be able to buy players at will without having to shed any :unamused:

So why couldn't they afford to keep Bird? I hate the Sharks as much as anybody else, but these constant digs at other clubs being over the cap and knowingly cheating is childish and ignorant.

Bird wanted to play 5/8\. Brisbane as I understand it have Bird in the halves.

I totally get his decision here. Halves get 750-1million. Centers get 500-600 and then get called overpaid.

Can someone explain why Jason Taylor, a high record scorer and kicker, could not train anyone to be a good boot!

I mean seriously, we would have to dig into Harrigan or El-Masri to find a better boot. JT kicked heaps of goals. Yet he could not even train up a good goalkicker!

You can't just train someone to be a goalkicker - if they don't have the ability, timing and skill it doesn't matter how much you teach them.

Sure, I get him not making Brooks or Moses or Whoever a goal kicker. But you have 25 players and you were the highest points scorer of all time at one point (I think El-Masri overtook him and became record holder).
Anyway, he did not do it. Damnit though I expected at least this pound of flesh from him. Sure we knew he was a crap people manager from the start, we expected a good attack but not much from defense. I at least expected an expert goal kicker to pass on their skills like Harrigan and El-Masri did at the dogs, surely there would have been someone as many players kicked in reserve grade!

Back to square 1 and 2 years down the drain.

Bingo. Sharks and Canberra have signed smart. Lewis was cheap, Chris H was cheap too. They got a class forward pack for nothing by signing everyone who was rejected. This includes Carney, Barba, etc these guys were on very cheap contracts because no other club wanted them. Cleary and the WT board now appear to be moving in a different direction from throwing money at juniors to stay. They are going a little more like Sharks, Canberra and Penrith. They expect value for money but hopefully not a flight deck like Easts. Juniors you can still make good money here but no 600K bribes to stay as developing halves.
