@ said:@ said:@ said:@ said:Have Rona and Tupou been confirmed?
No. Nobody has been confirmed recently. Milne was probably the last a few weeks ago. The status of the rumours in this thread is:
- Rona: possibly agreed to sign with Tigers subject to Force folding
- Tupou: possibly signed already
- Watson: likely to get a release from Roosters with Knights and Tigers after him, some suggestion he has signed for the Tigers who made a fanciful offer
- Brenton Lawrence: possibly been made an offer but also courting interest from Roosters and ESL (Knights should also get in the game for him)
- Jeremy Latimore: possibly been made an offer, not heard of any other clubs pursuing him
- Alex Glenn: possibly been made an offer but Brisbane are keen to keep him and are offloading elsewhere (Ese'ese and Ofahengaue)
- Albert Vete: possibly been made an offer but Titans are also after him and Warriors are now keen to keep him
- Morgan Boyle: possibly been made an offer with a number of clubs chasing him (ours is said to be the highest offer)
From what I got told:
Watson is pretty much done deal
Rona is doubtful
Tupou probably staying thanks to SKD being kicked out of the club.
Why would Rona be doubtful? Are you assuming Force stay in the comp?

Not assuming, just what I was told.. but also money could be an issue, not that we don't have enough.

I mean I'd love to be proven wrong but at least it means our reserve grade should improve.
@ said:@ said:@ said:I spoke to my mate at the Roosters.
From what he told me.
Tupou, Fergo and Flash have all but re-signed.
Watson is going to be given a release but he doesn't know where he will end up.
You were the one who told us your mate warned us about the Teddy announcement 30 minutes before it happened, weren't you?
Was told weeks before it happened and posted it here. Ended up being correct.
Take it how you like.
@ said:@ said:@ said:@ said:Why? that's where they should have been.
JAC deserved to be in ISP last year? Behind Rankin? Bwahahahaha you are a comedian
JAC has nothing to offer but speed … absolutely nothing.
Certainly had nothing to offer us. You're the comedian, I saw him the other week and Rankin looked like a superstar compared to my brother JAC.
"JAC has nothing to offer but speed…"
"Rankin looked like a superstar..."
Fair dinkum these have to be the comments of the decade. This cannot be a serious comment, the Vodka Cruisers must be going to your head.
Maybe the forum should have an award for the most delusional comment of the year, complete with a Sportsgirl gift card. You'd have it in the bag.

I am saying that I want more than a winger with JUST SPEED - I want a winger with a football brain, that can think ahead, read the game, get in and do the hard yards, defend etc. I don't think JAC has any of those things.
Someone else said he scored 7 tries and Rankin scored 6 so obviously that makes JAC a better player - don't think it quite works out like that. I am sure El Masri scored more tries than Johns as well but I wouldn't say he was a better player.
I am happy to be proven wrong over the next few years - I am sure you will let me know when he produces anything else but speed, but I doubt it.

Sorry mate, I wasn't having a shot at you. I just remember you posting something like half an hour beforehand that your mate at the Roosters said the announcement was imminent and you were right.

I would say that Melbourne and other top clubs have the luxury of fielding certain one-dimensional players.
In terms of defence, high ball, return metres in early tackles I consider JAC to be average. He obviously excels in open space and finishing.
Nofo is similarly flawed, not great on defence or kick defence but top-notch in DH runs and finding the corner in traffic.
Difference being that JAC can be the icing on a Storm cake, Nofo is currently leaned on as a key ingredient in the WT cake itself. If JAC and Nofo make a mistake, I back Melbourne a much greater chance to defend that mistake than Tigers.
@ said:@ said:Connor Watson ..James Tedesco TRADE RAGE would have to happen in the next 4 Days…
Would be smart. The NRL may veto it as it could be a game changer in the NRL.

Looks highly unlikely to happen with both players named for their current respective sides..

i think u got to look at what he has to offer as he is only young, he does show get promise. he is big fast and will improve just like suli.

He's also 3 or 4 years older than Suli and has shown less, even when playing for Fiji. He's a 'potential' signing, which so many people decry elsewhere yet seem to be completely sold on with Milne.

People need to put the knives away for Milne. His not exactly getting a good go at drags having a centre on the bench is pointless imo and unrealistic to expect much from him coming from the bench. The last time he played 80 he had a cracker so why don't people bring up those stats to push their opinions. His not a potential signing like suli his a ready made first grader.
