i think we will struggle to signing anyone else of any class, theres not much left, seems we have fallen in a hole.

Ivan might be waiting for the after cap is released fire sale.

This great fire sale everyone is hoping for may never happen…plenty of crud on other Clubs books that will be offered up before any World beaters...

We have plenty of our own..

Have faith and wait, SG said that there are two in COP, someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe ET has a COP if he re signs as he is already here, so must be someone new

I agree with comments that the suggested fire sale is likely to be a furphy. My guess is that possibly only 3 or 4 clubs are going to be above the cap when it is finally disclosed and then by less than $500k each. If that is correct we'll see those clubs try to offload a couple of $200k to $250k players each. To me that means around 6 to 8 average players are likely to be released as a result of cap overspends. I'd like to be wrong but will be surprised if I am. My worry is that we are 2 or 3 forwards short of a good pack for 2018 and with the quality left available we won't get them.

Missed Lawrence, missed Ofan…
People saying Boyle likely to stay at Titans.

Who's left? Latimore? McKendry? No top 2nd rowers... except maybe Peachey?

Bulldogs looking at Cronk? wtf? They are getting Foran, they have Mbye, they want Cronk as well?

Would laugh if cap is announced at $9m. Dogs would then have to drop... well, no, they'd just cheat, like the other top clubs do.

We need some good news Tigers, hope SG is right about the players in COP and hope they don't pull out.

If th dogs get Cronk they may have a fire sale of forwards. I'd still take Eastwood at the right price.

Dogs won't sign Cronk unless they can get him REALLY cheap. Remember look at Des's pattern.
Sacked Milford, brought up Trent Hodkinson.
Sacked Hodkinson, brough up DCE. (fired).
Sacked Hodkinson again, brought up Mbye.
Showed no interest in Hodkinson's halves partner.

Nothing above tells me that Des will sign a million dollar halfback. He is clearly a Foran fan, but that is it.

Now why would he add Cronk and risk punting more doggies and having more unrest. If he is loosing Graham and Eastwood then they will be his priorities. I would expect Des to chase Jack littlejohn or Josh Drinkwater and coach them up.

We should make a play for Cronk. I totally disagree with what's being said above. Cronk I think would work well in a struggling team with the way he rallies the team. Look at Origin, if QLD are getting done, he helps them rally to a victory. I don't know how he would go if week in week out his team are loosing. But for tight games he has done the job (although Melbourne don't win when it is tight).

In order for a player to be in the cop
There must be a signing/signings and since there has been
No signings , how can a player/ players be in the cop?
If im wrong let me know.

Clubs tend to announce signings after the COP.

are clubs required to have a full roster, if so then clubs in trouble can't let go 2 or 3 lower paid players to get under the cap as then they will be short of the required numbers with no money to sign even cheaper replacements.
if clubs must have a full roster then they will have to move on a well paid player to firstly get under the cap limit and secondly leave enough money to sign someone (cheap cheap) to make up the required amount of players.
if they don't have to sign a full squad, then you've just wasted your time reading this post.

If we get rochow and some other reserve grader then were back were we started.Best position we could aim for next year is 10-12.

Not a waste of time at all, it's a sensible comment. I actually want to be wrong because I'd like to think we have a chance of getting another 2 or 3 quality forwards. They do have to meet a player number requirement but I'm not sure what it is with the changes they're making around the lower grades.

You are right. If 1 mil over the cap they would have to release someone on 1.1 mil than sign someone else to make up the numbers eg. someone for 100k

I can't see us signing any more players mainly because there are so few on the market. We might pick up a player or two but I think we have to develop a squad over the next couple of years.

The Titans are looking at Sam Thiaday that is more cap space gone if they sign him.

If Titans got Thaiday, I imagine that would be for 2019\. (Broncos are saying they don't want him after 2018.) Hayne would be gone by then (surely they wouldn't put him on $1.2m again) and Titans would have some more space.

Still, I would like to see Boyle and Peachey to Tigers. And another winger.

I'm not so sure. Publicly announcing he won't get another contract is usually a way of saying, "Well, if someone offers you a 2 year deal…."
