Woods only made so many metres be he was a hog and called for the ball twice in most sets and because he was Captain nobody was game to overrule .If blokes like Jessy Sue and Aloiai got the ball as much as woods thay would make as many metres as him and actually hurt the defence.Lets see how he goes when hes not top dog andTolman who is also a hog calls for the ball.Bring on Matuleno and Packer I say

I look forward to Sue punching out those metres next year.

I think you might be terribly disappointed.

Sue was playing with a back injury most of the season, his back only came good towards the end of the season when he look quite good.

In the last 12 games of the season he broke 100m twice. I thought he was consistently awful throughout the season and is not at first grade level. I hope to be proven wrong.

Aloiai on the other hand could be anything. He was devastating towards the backend of the season.

With the signings of Matulino and Packer, I believe that both Sue and Josh Aloiai will bennefit from them in the team. Both Matulino and Packer will make good yards up the guts, Sue and Aloiai find it much more easier to follow suit. Aloiai started looking good in the last half of the season and I'm tipping that Aloiai has a break out season in 2018 - if no injuries. The signing of McQueen gives us a big hard running forward out wide in the backs hitting holes for Brooks, Reynolds and Marshall to put him through.

How good our forwards go will depend on how well the 7 and 9 go and I am confident if they can stay healthy they will go okay

Sad to think we only have player 30 to speculate over, going to be slow 10 weeks to the boys start having the odd hit out. I really think no 30 has to be a standout player, but I guess it will be another depth signing

Round one last year we had
Woods
Ava
Sue
Lawrence
Taylor and we had Grant, Cheekam and Joel Edwards on the bench.

Likely round one for 2018
Packer
Mataluino
Eisenhuth
McQueen
Taylor with Twal, Aloai and sue as our forwards options.
I think our pack has more to deliver in 2018!

Hes a costly, lazy arsed slack defender

I think the whole team had defensive issues. I would not signal Woods out. I also think that he was being asked to play to many minutes because there were no other options, and that would not have helped his ability to defend, or should I say the quality of his defence

He is lazy. As eceidenced by a video someone posted earlier in the year of a game against the Dragons. Saints made a break and he was the last one to get back in line, despite being the freshest player on the field, having only come back on the field a minute earlier.

Way to build an argument GNR.One incident out of how many career games, defines a player. Yeh right.

Watched him play v Brisbane back in 2015

He was continually one of the last players back after the 15 minute mark

Yes I understand he's not Usain Bolt , but he needs to work harder

Not sure what the concern is , he's not our problem or issue anymore

If Sue doesn't have a big 2018 he might be at the stop waiting for a connecting bus

I think his Opal has expired

Towards the end of the year, Cleary was utilising Sue and Josh A in such a way as to benefit the team most. Sue is an impact player best used in short bursts while Josh's power running game has been a revelation and it is lucky we have him under contract.

A critical statement about anything/anyone will usually get a response. Its not a concern just a discussion as far as I can see - and it seems that there is still some interest in giving it to Woods.

Unless Manly are willing to give up either of the Turbos I wouldn't touch them, let them sink.

That's what we said about the Bulldogs, and they swapped a reserve grader for another reserve grader and fixed everything. I hear you though, there's no one at Manly who I particularly want to see in Tigers colours. Except the Turbos but that won't happen.

I wouldn't even want Taupau back, he was never the right fit and would be even worse a fit now.

Tim Grant saying that while he would like to return to Penrith he remains fully committed to us for the coming season.
