The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that French’s management have approached rival clubs about their needs for a fullback. Gold Coast, North Queensland and the Wests Tigersare all clubs who are thin in the defensive position and may be interested in his services.
French debuted for Parramatta in 2016 and has made 37 NRL appearances, scoring 31 tries.
The Eels began this season with premiership aspirations, but are currently dwindling at the bottom of the ladder, which has left the club needing to make key decisions on their list and a potential makeover in need.
Hayne and Norman have done little this season to warrant a contract extension, while Mitchell Moses would likely be granted a release if he desired so. Hayne has yet to repay the Eels for the $500,000 gamble they took on him.

The Wests Tigers have had a red-hot crack at luring Valentine Holmes to the club as their fullback. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Sharks don't want to release him from his contract.
Holmes is on a lucrative deal and has attracted interest from the Tigers and Cowboys, however the Sharks aren't willing to budge.
It will be interesting to see what happens if they try and bring Ben Barba back.
The Tigers have also shown interest in Moses Mbye, but the new Bulldogs regime is reluctant to pay any money for players to leave to other clubs.
It's why Aiden Tolman has struggled to make his way to the exit doors despite rival clubs showing a willingness to pay a chunk of his salary.

I’d sign whoever comes prior to June 30.
We could front load up to 1m for French or Mbye. They’d be on the cap for peanuts over the next 2-3 years. There’s not much between them tbh French scored 19 tries in his debut season albeit he is a lightweight for a fullback possibly as quick as addo-carr.
Eels are making a grave mistake Norman is by far the better half. They are nuts if they think Moses is the better playmaker.
