Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Is this thread about OUR signings and potential rumours or a who looks good at other club threads. I know the forum is a little different but this not hard to find the right threads to post in.

If you want to talk about Ponga or Bronson Xerri or how other teams are going to play go start a thread on those things.

I can only assume that you didn't read the "as it stands" bit?

I certainly hope that if he committed the crime that he serves a significant sentence, as with conviction rates being in the low single digits, unfortunately the vast majority of sexual predators do not serve any time.

Too good a player to go to the UK, It was being discussed in the Shire a few weeks ago that they wanted him gone. Typical Cronulla.

The New Zealand product said the Sharks weren’t putting undue pressure on him to leave.
“No, everyone has been fine,” he said.

"Take your time, Ava. We don't care if we're not playing for points for the first 6 weeks."

Whoever they release will have been payed for more than 1/4 of their contract. To drop 330k, they need to release player/s to the contract value of 440k.

And purchase another player on minimum contract of $90k ($100k?) to replace them as well.

We need a guy to have a selfie taken outside Sharks HQ with a Sign - "Will play for Drugs" 😛ill::syringe:😛ill::syringe:😛ill::syringe:

Ava was rumoured to be on about 500k at the sharks. Massive overs.

They also only need to sign a replacement for 50k, as half the contract duration has passed.

That's what he assumes the Sharks would pay him. He was on more than that with us, and was a starting player, then was known to leave us to take up "an offer he couldn't refuse" financially.
So one would deduce we was on surprisingly decent coin for a plodder!

I think Development players get that much or yes the minimum is about 80-90k. However that's for a one year contract. NRL contracts expire on 1 Nov, therefore a contract would only need to be 50% pro-rata'd of that 90k. So effectively 45k

Minimum for 2019 are $105,000 for top 26 players and $72,500 for players 27-30.

These will rise by $5,000 (top 26) and $2,500 (27-30) yearly until 2022.

i have seen some people wondering if we will re-sign Chris Lawrence. However I would imagine he is the only 8 year veteran at the club at the moment. Given that the first 200k we pay him is salary cap free. Given he is prob on 330k we are effectively getting an experienced Leader who can play FG for $130k the same as a minimum wage player from a Salary cap perspective. Not sure how we could think that isn't worth it.
