Simona on the move

Has anyone thought the club is tapping players on the shoulder so as to position the club for QUALITY replacements in the not to distant future ..really I would not feed Simone has done nothing .

Simona is off contract this year anyway, but we will need him this year, and I think in years to come as well.

Apparently Dale Copley is available

The biggest reason Simona looked bad last year was Brooks being rubbish and Moses dominating possession on the right edge. To much talent to let move on and rely on Idris and Naiqama if we make this move its terrible planning.

Well said TYGA.

I think we must keep Simona, even if he plays on the wing. He has the speed and talent to be one of the best wingers in the comp.

I am sure he will also make good metres early in the set.

His defensive game is actually pretty good (although other players around him make him look bad)

Hopefully he gets to play with a better player than rankin, and have brooks give him some try scoring opportunities from kicks or cut out passes.

I would like to see Simona on the wing for us in 2017,and not at another club

We are both in danger of losing TimSim and also shopping him around, apparently.

I'm therefore in danger of losing my spare couch to whomever on Gumtree is interested.

I'd be surprised if Simona was forced to walk the plank given we were also apparently shopping Frozone around to the UK.

Willow he has been shopped in the ESL for so long Big Kev will need to throw in a set of steak knifes to get that deal through

He may have a get buy one get one free deal so we better find out what big brother Wes is up to as well

But it shows you what clubs (and these are ESL clubs , not NRL clubs )really think of the talent that some just absolutely rave about :brick:

Centre stocks are healthy for 2017 at the moment, and would like to keep it that way. Simona/Chee Kam are suited to the left edge, and Naiqama/Idris the right. There's also good vesatility with Simona/Naiqama able to shift to the wing, and Chee Kam/Idris able to play as edge backrowers. Naiqama and Idris have also had experience playing on the left. However I cannot recall Simona or Chee Kam playing on the right ?

I am not sure of the basis of this rumour but if true who is making this decision? Is it Taylor, Egan, Pascoe or the board.
If we need to get rid of players to get under the cap, why are we shopping around players in positions where we have no depth? In the outside backs the replacements would likely be Rankin, Hunt or young blokes that no other NRL club would touch with a barge pole.
If a player needs to be moved on the club should be looking at players in positions where there is depth and other clubs are short on players. On this basis I would be looking at front rowers. Obviously we need to keep Woods and have Paseka, Felise & Tatola coming through. This leaves Sue, Ava & Grant and I believe Grant's contract is still being subsidised by former clubs, Sue just re-signed and so I would be shopping Ava around.

Because his a player other clubs would actually want a pay mOney for. Our side of the bargaining is down now that everyone knows we are struggling with cap. The clubs silence on this suggests there is a element of truth to all this so either way we screwed again because if we give away Simona we will be paying for some of his salary next year. Unless he does a fultz goes to England for a year and comes back next year.

Or the Clubs silence on this could simply mean …It's BS...

Or it could simply mean the story that Nick Politis hasn't spoken to James Tedesco is BS and it's time for a garage sale to offload a Commodore or the odd Torana to keep the Ferrari

That wouldn't make much sense in Simona's case as he is off-contract in 2017..so off loading him this Year would have zero impact on the retention of Tedesco in 2018..

It would be just a simple case on not re-signing Simona beyond this Year to thwart Unca Nick's devilish plan..Unless you mean Teddy will be a Rooster in 2017..

Yeah but I'll have to move the Tarago and the GoGo Mobile to get to the Commodore and Torana which is behind the boat

Geo you need to dig another hole …

Joel Edwards without a doubt should be the first player moved on. He is useless.

I dunno… If we can get our defence in order so we aren't always on the back foot... He can be a weapon in defence. If we're attacking with our D I like what he can offer... He cN hurt blokes and provide inspiration

Tim Simona, would have to be the most popular - if not, one of the most popular players - with the fans, at the club.

He's the best backline player (other than Tedesco) we've had in years.

Ridiculous if true but I doubt this nonsense is true.

His impact in defence gets talked up a lot but I just can't remember any tackles last season when he shortened anyone up with a bonecrunching hit. Maybe he was a hitman in his Newcastle and Canberra days and people are going off that? I dunno, he just doesnt seem to be any more punishing in defence than any of our other forwards and with ball in hand he is pretty ineffective IMO.

Good defender. Not so many "bonecrunching" hits, but plenty of bootlace tackles.

If we can begin to win the ruck, and begin each tackle in defense on the front foot instead of the backpedal… That will change

I agree, also stop conceding points in the 5 min before and straight after half time. :unamused:

Will go a decent way to achieve long awaited finals berth.
