Would like to see both Simpkin and Liddle in the 17.

Starting hooker 0-30 minutes
Bench hooker 30-65 minutes
Starting hooker 65-80 minutes

Don’t know who I’d start and who I’d bench but that’s just a rough idea of how it could potentially be balanced better

How about both hookers the last 20-25 minutes ..obviously all dependent on the scoreboard of course

Start would be Simpkins ...utilize Liddle's speed with tiring middle defenders and edges that have hopefully been pulled apart

Then tear them apart with 2 hookers going out of dummy half with us just loading the middle with the speed we do have ...be a great way of utilizing Roberts if the tank isn't empty along with Laurie and Brooks .......

I'm sure if we looked at Cam Smith or Robbie Farah at 19 they would not resemble in playing skills the great hooker forwards they became. Remember Simpkin has been thrown into a badly beaten team and asked to perform as an established hooker. This is different to debuting with the Roosters or Penrith.

On Liddle, it takes 12 months of playing to regain confidence and speed after a serious knee injury. He has done remarkably well and I hope we can retain him. I believe he is Captain material.

Sorry but Robbie made a clean line break with his first touch in 1st grade. Let’s not compare Jake to Robbie or Cam Smith.

I get the point you’re trying to make. But you can’t make it with the two best hookers of the past 20 years.

Hate to say it but if Jake was as classy as Robbie or Smith, we’d already know about it. Doesn’t mean he still can’t be a quality player.

im thinking its madge/farah coaching his game away from him (and liddle)

i dont know about you guys but i thought liddles strength was his service from the turf, and from what i have seen he is now picking it up and throwing it, and even then the service seems slow and wayward

same deal with simpkin; all his lower grade stats which are through the roof seem to be non-existent in first grade, yes there is a step up so you cant expect the same try scoring rate, but a run is a run, whether it results in a line break or a try, and i can probably count on one hand how many times simpkin ran as a natural instinct.

if either are naturally talented surely you should be coaching to maximise that rather than try and change their style to suit the rest of the (bog average) team

i'm not saying sach madge/farah but maybe they need to reassess how they are coaching the boys

I’m happy they are using rookies properly and not running them into the ground like the Dogs have done to a lot of players over the last few years.

Its not BJ, Liddle, Mikaele, Stefano and Simpkin who have us in this position. Yet these guys are the ones he is punishing.

Its not an even playing field.
