Sirro should wear 6 (2014)

Hope you all had a great xmas guys.

I personally think we could use Sirro as 5/8 nxt year. His hard running, size and defense fits perfectly.
I know Potter has said he will be a forward but I would play him at 6 and use Austin as a utility on the bench.
We have a plenty of talent and depth in the forwards and with halatau probably starting and moltz out for most of year, we need a utility on the bench.
Imagine the defense, close to the line, trying to read sirro, when he has patterson running off of him, especially when he is so big he can easily take the line on himself.
Also gives Austin some time to work himself into the team.
Thoughts?

I think he is wasted on the halves, and rather then creating opportunities, he should be hitting the holes off another 5/8th creating them…

He is a deveatating ball runner.

He would have to be the third option behind Anasta / Austin

But with the concerns over Anasta and his form and whether Austin is up to first grade standard he might still be a possibility

Potter's first option will probably be Anasta unless Austin plays out of his shoes in the trials

I disagree. I'm bummed moltzen was injured. I thought he would shine with brooks at half. It's an absolute mystery what the long term outlook is. But I would say anasta at 6\. Brooks 7\. With sirro off the bench. Sirro coming in with fresh legs worked very well last year.
Mystery though.

No chance. He has put 6kg of muscle in and will play left edge 2nd row

Agree 100%. Waste Anasta is past it and will only hinder our rebuilding process. Austin from what I saw at the Panthers lacked the skill and consistency to be a first grade 5/8\. We have enough forwards and Siro will make a great running 5/8\. Leave the kicking to Brooks and Farah.

And I hope you also had a great Xmas Pyjamaztehboss.

I think he would be a better option than Anasta. And a better choice initially than anyone else in contention.

Agree that what we need is a running/tackling 5/8 as we already have an organising hooker and an organising half. Siro is our best option.

Backrow for mine, particularly given that it looks like his playing weight will be close to 110kg, which is exactly what w need on the edges next season.

exactly. 110kg five eight, one of the most ridiculous ideas i've heard.

he was already one of, if not THE heaviest five eight ever at 100kg.

When a player has so much ball handling skill and a great footy brain might as well waste him as a battering ram in the back row!!! Nothing wrong with being big as a 5/8 another position to be able to break the line with inside and out side ball runners . Has been pencilled in by the forum as a one trick battering ram pony!
