I haven't watched alot of Toyota Cup but watching the game yesterday I was thinking who is this 17, he seemed pretty awesome to me a bit SBWish. Thoughts on him guys?

Hadn't seen much of him myself, but anyone that size, who can hold the ball like a Panadol, has a promising career. But as history shows only 4 or 5 of yesterday's team will have established NRL careers

I liked what I saw of him. Big, mobile, decent speed and the ability to break the line. He has played some games on the wing because of his speed, but he looks a good backrower in the making. 6 feet tall and 105kg, so he's no midget either.

So long as that 4-5 figure is historically correct for the WT, then I'd be more than happy with that! :sign:

He is the prototype second rower every NRL side is looking for, big strong fast and skillful.
He has a big future ahead of him as long as he develops a strong work ethic and doesn`t become a lazy defender who is a liablity because of it.

It's about giving the boys a chance and allowing them to learn of there mistakes , if only Sheens would of given Miller more of a chance he would of maybe been already a halfback for the NRL instead of breaking his confidence and dropping him and never to be seen in 1st grade and playing other players out of position is just plain dumb…

Does every thread need to descend into a Sheens bash? Yes we know he played favourites and picked players out of position. He has been doing that since 2004\. Get over it, he has been sacked. The club is moving on. You should too.

I can't believe you brought him up in a thread about a player who never played under him. Unbelievable.

Yeah true what the hell has this got to do with Sitaleki Akauola , my brain going into overdrive     . I am over it just frustrated how things have been operating for a while

Yeh he caught my eye too.

Also the mobility of Sue tells me he could handle the backrow until he thickens out a bit before moving back up front as he gets older, much like Steven Price did.

Sue was on fire yesterday, he'd be one worth persisting with, but in the backrow like you say Sirro.

yes I agree, bit in the mean time we may have an ageing part time backrower from Easts who continues to win awards.

Actually Akauola has always reminded me of Ali Lautaiti ex Warriors player

Don't know why

I thought this too. The lanky backrower who can hold the ball in one hand can be very good. They usually have some mistakes in them but will also come up with great plays like we saw Sunday.

I watched a bit of the 20s this year and tbh he had never stood out before. Keep in mind he came on with about 25 to go and the game was pretty much wrapped up.

Can still play the 20s next year and will be very keen to watch his progress

Good news , he should get more game time with a few blokes stepping up to BRET and full time squad

This guy was brilliant of the bench hes a real handful & can offload hes a tall big thing player of the future hopefully with Wests Tigers….

With Kyle Lovett, Brendon Santi and Andrew Vela all still eligible next year I believe he will struggle to make the 20s starting line up again next year - just shows what a great job the club has done getting such strong juniors together

Just a reminder, there is no more BRET.

He was great on Sunday.

I had never really noticed him before the GF, or paid him much attention.

A blinder in a GF gets you plenty of attention, good on him, killed it.

Same can be said for Jesse Sue, He was amazing in the GF, before that I knew he was pretty good, but he looked like a world beater on Sunday!
