IMHO, the level of our success will depend largely on the thing that has been eluding Madge, combinations.
The pivotal combination of course is Madge himself, and Sheens. I see the leadership shown by these two successful coaches having a very positive affect on the players.
The other combo is Hastings/Brooks, if the first one is working this will work too.
Twal to score. Yes, you heard it here first.
Musgrove to have a breakout season, holding the ball tight and running from the back fence.
We play finals footy this year.
After 10 rounds we are 5/5.

Atta boy

Haha, Pygmalion? Maybe? I’m hoping we won’t hear a word from the board all season leaving Sheens and Madge to be busy taking us to the finals.

Okay... Brooks, Madge, Liddle, lovers/haters etc optimists/pessimists, season 2022, if you've got the nerve, all you experts please make your predictions here for the first 10 rounds:
Will Brooks pass/fail
Lids pass/fail
Hastings pass/fail
Will Madge post a winning or losing record
Will Musgrove start with Stef
Will Twal start at all
Starting centres

Brooks pass
Liddle fail
Hastings pass
Winning record 5/5
Musgrove on the bench, Madge loves him
Twal on the bench, Stef and Tamou starting (yuck)
Gildart/Roberts centre pairing

Mate so cool to read this.
I sort of agree with GNR about most of these topics are [so many, all relating to how we'll go] purely speculative, but hey I think it's awesome to read positive stuff like what you've written.
Mate your prediction about Twal scoring completely flew under the radar, well done.
I don't agree with 100% like 5/5 but wouldn't that be something.
👍

I will have a go...
Brooks - Pass
Liddle - Pass as will have to prove to other clubs he can play
Hastings - PASS
Madge - Losing as not enough top players to get us over the line
Musgrove - On Bench
Twal - Start
Starting centresrd 1 are Gilbert and JTJ

I really don't care who starts as long as we put in an solid effect and don't get flogged.
We are looking very good for 2023

hopefully no Nofoaluma, and Roberts from the start, ideally they would be
playing somewhere at the north of UK, or Samoa!

Noffa will be on the wing for another 4 years

Will Brooks- pass. Can see him getting an overall 6.5/10 for the first 10 rounds
Lids - fail. Unless his fitness has improved out of site 4.5/10
Hastings pass - hoping for a 7/10 from him. Hard to say. Not having seen him at this level.
Will Madge 5 out of 10 games won.
Yes. Musgrove will start with Stef
Will Twal start at lock for 20mins then move the the front row when Peachy comes on at Lock for the remain 60 mins.
Starting centres. This is a concern. Hopefully after the trials we have a better idea. For the sake of the “Stake your reputation” concept I’ll go with Gildart and Starford.

As low as my expectations are, if we can show heart, it takes you a long way. The Titans had a poor roster a couple seasons ago, yet were in every game cos they always had a dig. If we can show that kind of heart, who knows. It would be the first time in the clubs history if we did.

Performances from this mob, these last few years especially, have shown most of them are pea hearted.
Maybe a new halves pairing might give them some hope.

@tigerballs good thread mate

Brooks - pass if Hastings remains fit

Liddle - pass, being optimistic, over 1 year now since his last major knee injury and will be on the improve

Hastings - pass, will add so much to this team

Madge - 4 or 5 wins would be an acceptable start, Douehi,Talau, and Kepaoa coming back either before or after round 10, keep in touch with the 8 then make a late push

Musgrove - lucky to get a bench spot, won’t start round 1, has played little footy

Twal - Needs to start, especially against teams like Melbourne who start fast and can blow you off the park in the first 20mins

Centres - So weak here, I’m thinking Gildart and To’a although I think OG will struggle in defence, if it was my choice I would have the Peach or Jet

You've raised a good point there gunner, playing with heart and passion and working harder but also smarter are integral parts of a teams success. We also have a **rich history** with a multitude of legends that teams like the Titans can not even dream about. Just to mention a few of the legends, **T Raudonikis, K Holmann, N Kelly, K Barnes, W Pearce, and G Jack.** and many many more.

Our young WT players could also watch videos of these legends and see how it is to play with heart and dedication.

And when they've seen the highlights, repeat again.
And again.

A five from five start to the season
Brooks n hastings pair well and our defence actually digs in and we win scrappy.
Likely a 6-7 win ratio from first 10 games.
Highly optimisitc.
Lids n simpkin will be determined in the trials as to who starts

I don’t think it matters who starts. It won’t change how many minutes each get. I’m guessing maybe 50-30 with Liddle playing 50.

I'm not sure either way on most of these questions.

I will say this, our side looks slow unless some young guns are promoted.

I think our season depends on better decision making on the edges. If we keep teams to 20 points or less we improve and Brooks and Madge both survive.

If the defence doesn't improve Madge is definitely gone imo as our team is not dynamic enough to chase 30 points every week.

Then We will all be tormented with 760 new pages a day on Brooks as the new coach "gives him a chance".

If I'm Madge, I'm not giving LL 80 minutes, and I'm booking Nofo in for surgery to impair his peripheral vision as he always seems to be going sideways in A and D.

If I'm Madge I'm also OK with not having Doueihi on an edge for the first couple of months (in defence at least). When he comes back I don't think he can defend next to Luciano.

Our best bet is to win often in the early rounds by under 12.

Liddle - at this stage has to be long odds to be here in '23.

I don't think we'll see any meaningful change this year. Maybe next year. I think we're objectively worse than 12 or 14 other teams. I'd be shocked if we made the 8.

I think a good goal for this team should be: if you are to loose, lose by less than 2 tries.

Simply cannot have a blowout scoreline again.

We must improve this year.

We must improve this year.

You have to have the cattle to improve, and we are severely lacking.

There will be many blowout scores this year just like last year, the rules and the adjudicators of those rules have not changed sufficiently for there to be much change imho. With one or two exceptions every team will get blown off the park this year on more than 1 occasion
