Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

I don't disagree with much of your post however I don't believe the Roosters required an external recruitment agency to select their directors.

Because they didnt have incompetent HBG directors running them into the ground to the point that they needed an external review that recommended they all be sacked.
Notice there are no women on the board. (And also ,I believe that while Julie is performing well at HBG I don't believe she is suitable for the WT board.)
Why is Julie performing well at HBG? Because she kept the power on to the pokies?

But to draw an analogy to the Sydney Roosters board of directors implies people of that type and calibre are available to the Wests Tigers but are precluded from selection. I'm sure the HBG would be glad to have people like that on board and would've selected them if available.
Explain to me how having debenture board members attracts experience and high calibre candidates?

Not wasting my time responding to the first two paragraphs, agree the HBG next move will be for the right reasons.
There is two ways to resolve this mess ,one is for HBG to remove itself from the JV which would mean the end of WTs or they take full contol.
Financialy funding the JV with no input wont be happening.
Everyone will have the answers by the end of the month and everyone can move on in the direction they choose.I know this, big changes are happening, and not everyone is going to like it.
3/7 seats on the WT board = no input?

If HBG don’t want WT, good. Sell the license to the highest bidder. They might run it professionally.

Now I really think you're Dennis or Julie.

If they are happy to pull out, then that is a good option. It will not be the end of WTs as it's close to solvent already and there would be plenty of buyers lining up.

But what can't happen is that these board of directors think of themselves as owners. It's a club. It's owned by members and mostly funded by the NRL. Richo is already moving to make us profitable.

The rationale is that these people have is a debt commitment - but it is not at risk. For them to treat that as their whole rationale to consume the board, then have HBG settle the bloody debentures and revert HBG to full voting board. That's a great option 3! But I doubt they'll do that as it would give up their power vacume. That would be another way to solve it without changing the board as you would be able to have a pathway via OPEN elections at HBG.

This debeturre holding group is the challenge as they don't see themselves as custodians of a community asset. If you are Dennis or Julie, I hope you can start to see that.

Peter V’Landys doesn’t suffer fools.

I hope HBG keep carrying on with their foolishness.

I can understand HBG wanting input as the majority owner of the club.

Fans & stakeholders will ultimately be happy if the Board structure is one that can drive the club forward with superior corporate governance than what we’ve had. So at least 3-4 independent directors with diverse successful corporate backgrounds, diverse ages, ethnicities, males & females and potentially someone representative of the South West region would be great. Both from a business perspective & also public/media perception, this is vital.

HBG can still have the same number of directors on the board if they wish & final sign-off on key financial decisions. But like it or not, HBG directors have become a laughing stock the way this has played out in the media, perceived as an old-school blazer brigade who have overseen failure for his club for however long now.

I look forward to hearing what these big changes are that you refer as you’re obviously part of or close to the inner circle of HBG. I just hope it includes change for the good of the WT.

You can tell in the poster’s demeanour it’s not about the good of WT, that’s the problem with this mob.

That's the same structure as what we had mate

Rick Wayde saved half of our club once before.
The first time I met Rick; Poppy BF took me to a referee function once and Rick was there, I got his autograph and he gave me his black tie with little magpies on it, straight off his neck. I still have it today and wore it to Poppy BF’s funeral.
Rick is not sabotaging this club.
Rick Wayde is a legend in my book! I marched with him & hundreds of Western Suburbs Magpies supporters back in the day, we collected money at Strathfield & Burwood stations & shopping centres. A whole group of us then young blokes (16-18) from Rooty Hill & Mt Druitt us went to a concert he helped organised that had a great Aussie line up including the Radiators, Hoodoo Guru's, Rose Tattoo & more.....good times....but shitting ourselves we were going to lose our club.

Hahaha. It's not really personal per se about them. They are chair and deputy of HBG. I live in Singapore mate, definitely not in the loop.

Wests Tigers is extremely personal to me, as it is for a lot of people here, and I've seen how poorly it's been run for over a decade. It's my one real passion—even my wedding was in WT colours, and Robbie did a video for us.

I even approached Pascoe to have some of my will go to the club when I hit the end of the road. It's probably near the same amount as these debentures that they are using to justify everything.

All of us would love nothing more than to be proven wrong about these guys. All Julie needs to do is make a statement, but the radio silence and the actions coming out from them is concerning, to say the least.
