What have the Magpies got to do with it? Debenture structure is the problem. Not ownership %.

Yeah I’m well aware Clayton Utz lawyers act for HBG. Julie Romero cc’d them into her email to Barry O’Farrell when she halted the Wests Tigers board from meeting. The governance at both entities is legal.
Regardless the outcomes of Liquor and Gaming investigations re suspended directors it's unlikely they can force HBG to change their constitution without the express approval of the general members of HBG in keeping with the clubs current constitution unless in the unlikely event massive improprieties are discovered without an ACT of parliament which of course will affect all clubs.
You will find Clayton Utz lawyers normally for HBG.
Most probably but State Labor and the Greens didn’t do them any favours in the end.Probably should've done so with Balmain Leagues.
Magpies v Balmain again trying to change the argument.Probably should've done so with Balmain Leagues.
It’s a pretty good deal for debenture holders. For $100 they get free meals and beverages for their family.I am an old Balmain boy, now 78. Balmain RL and Wests RL merged to form Wests Tigers. Both clubs voted for the merger in 1999. The Board now controlling Wests Tigers has 7 members.
I keep on reading that 27, 000 members vote for 1 member on that Board. I am surmising that these are Wests Ashfield members. Another member is from Balmain. (How many members vote for that person? Anyone know?) The rest are Holman Barnes Group members voted in by 18 (may be only 17) other HBG debenture holders. Debenture holders paid 50 pounds originally in 1955 to set up Wests RLC. Since that time, new debenture holders have been accepted into the HBG by the existing members and the existing members only, paying $100 (?.) I think I am right so far.
I have read nearly every post to about the current turmoil. I have signed two petitions. I have listened to many, many podcasts. I agree with the current petition that the whole situation needs a dramatic. overhaul. I have read ad nauseam about how undemocratic all this is.
As of 2000, I have been a Wests Tigers fan and have been a paid up member for over ten years. Following Wests Tigers is a major part of my life. Never once have I been asked to vote for a Board member of MY CLUB. I know, I know that Balmain has folded, that Wests Ashfield put major funds into the football club. However, NSWRL put in most of the money that makes OUR Club function, unless I am mistaken. After years of utter misery, we are in a position to compete with Shane Richardson at the helm. This won't last long if the current situation prevails.
We need a fresh start. We can rise from the ashes BUT ALL Wests Tigers members must have a say. Let's start with the review but can we please make a move for a total democratic constitution in which Wests Tigers Members vote for the Board members who run OUR CLUB?
I've said it numerous timesIt really is amusing to watch so many get sucked into circular arguments with the usual suspects. I can tell you right now who the idiots are here.
Hitting reply is like oxygen. So keep smashing those keys.
It has become way to common for people to pile on others online. For me it's a new form of school yard bullying. I hate it.Spartan,
Are pile ons an official policy of the WTF?
Are there preferred narratives in this forum?
Please cut the trolling and the subsequent pile on.
It's the dawn of new era of On Field success.
I think Clubs NSW is a self regulated organisation for NSW clubs there are no obligations for clubs to be members but I think most would be members. I have no idea if HGB are.So you say but having a quick read of a document from clubs nsw called … club governance code of practice , in the section of legal obligations
7. We are committed to promoting fair and democratic elections and maximising member involvement by adhering to relevant law and following appropriate procedures for the conduct of club elections .
…
Fair and democratic for 18 people who paid $100 to have more say than 27;000 ?
And even how to get in to the 18
How's about no more harrasmant, stalking and pestering individuals from one to another? It has become way to common for people to pile on others online. For me it's a new form of school yard bullying. I hate it.
The comment was in defence of @BZN in truth.
No more personal attacks please.
FTR I want this place to open to free speech and respectful disagreement.
Unfortunately Cochise many of the posters on here appear to be Balmain affiliated in some way, and anti Wests Ashfield/Western Suburbs.Magpies v Balmain again trying to change the argument.

Why would supporters in the South West have a problem with this? It’s not like the petition is asking to stop playing games at Campbelltown or to nullify the MacArthur area & focus more on the Balmain/Ryde area. This division needs to stop it’s not Wests vs Balmain here. All me & many others want is for the HBG to fully implement the review & grant the WT’s their independence from Wests Ashfield & the HBG. It really is quite that simple.Unfortunately Cochise many of the posters on here appear to be Balmain affiliated in some way, and anti Wests Ashfield/Western Suburbs.
If you happen to post anything supporting Wests Ashfield/Western Suburbs you are intimidated by posters who think they own the forum.
Mate it would be interesting to know how Wests Tigers supporters in the south west of Sydney feel about all of this.
I do think all of wests Tigrers demographic of supporters should come together as one as Wests Tigers members and supporters. But I think the way some members of this forum are causing division within Wests Tigers as a united club.
