OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May #301

Two years good deal...now some forwards eh richo
I don’t think there is much cap space left, so we are limited in way of money to spend as well as limited in decent players being or potentially being available,
No idea how clubs such as the Bulldogs do it, their accountant must be much more creative than ours.

Great news. This is why we listen to the club and not journos.
All the journos said was that he knocked back a a 3 year offer because he wanted a shorter term deal with more money. They didn’t say he was leaving. If anything, a two year deal only confirms they were on the money. There’s no way the club would have only offered him two years off their own bat.

At higher value. But a little higher than just a 50k bump. I’m sure he’s looking in the 700-750k range. Which, based off how he looked, I’m not sure you can’t argue he isn’t worth. The concern is not him wanting more money, but a shorter length. It indicates that he’s using the club as a springboard to get to a stronger club. He clearly doesn’t want to be tied down to us, but wants to make as much money as possible while he is here.

Or he's backing himself for a bigger pay day in two years time believing he will be worth more

The Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm the re-signing of Taylan May on a two-year contract.

May, who joined the club in June on a train-and-trial deal, will now remain a Tiger until the end of the 2027 NRL season.

The 23-year-old made two appearances in NSW Cup following his arrival at Concord, before making a return to the NRL in Round 20 against the Gold Coast Titans, scoring a try in a thrilling one-point win.

The Samoan international appeared in the final seven fixtures of the Wests Tigers 2025 campaign, for a return of four tries, three try assists and six line breaks.

Excited about the opportunity to further his career alongside his brother Terrell, Taylan was happy to extend his stay with the club.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity the Tigers have provided me and the belief and faith that Benji and the coaching staff have shown in me,” May said.

“I’ve been able to live out a dream to play in the NRL alongside my brother, it’s something that we’ll both remember for the rest of our lives. I’m excited for that to continue and remain part of this group,” May concluded.

Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach, Benji Marshall praised Taylan’s impact since joining the club.

“We’ve been impressed with the way Taylan has come into our club. The work he is doing not only on the field but off it to become a better person is awesome to watch,” Marshall said.

“We’re excited to see him get a full pre-season under his belt and know his best footy is ahead of him here at the Tigers.

“We’re happy to have him and his family with us for the next two years,” Marshall concluded.

May’s extension comes off the back of Adam Doueihi and Starford To’a choosing to remain at Concord for next season and beyond, as well as the impending arrivals of Kai Pearce-Paul, Jock Madden, Mavrik Geyer and Ethan Roberts in 2026.

Taylan has certainly proven me wrong by his attitude since joining the club as i was very apprehensive about him coming. Not only has he proved that he can control his inner demons (which was my concern) but he has clearly shown that he is still a classy footballer.I am definately pleased he will be playing for us during 26/27.He is definately a plus for us.
Hopefully we can get a couple of solid middles to give us a better pack and another decent centre during the off season.

Beginning to understand why Tim has been shown the door twice, now trying for a third. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Maybe, though I would be willing to put a chunk on Taylan's NRL contract value being that, or a lot closer to it than others projecting $700/750k or more, if I was the betting type.

Anyway, happy to have him at WT plugging an important hole that needed filling.
