OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

Taylan May has played 8 games at centre in his whole career. All his highlights are from when he played wing.

If he is to play centre, you have to play him in Cup to earn a spot because he has zero formline to go by. 1 year with club option on low money is my play for him and coming back in reserves.

Only plays NRL this year for injuries and reassess form and behaviour in 2026.
Cool cool .. but bloody well sign him and get him training and amongst the boys doing what he is good at and what can keep him busy and with goals FFS .. otherwise Bennet 4 sure will and when Taylan becomes a star we will have to listen to every man and his dog saying Bennet took a punt on this kid and being the man managing shaper of men it has paid off in spades as us Wets Tigers diehards console ourselves with our 4th wooden spoon and our dreams of next year with our wholesome reputation as wholesome citizens that deliver star footy players to the Big Clubs on a conveyor belt !! 🥳

Put him on the wing instead of Staines and even potentially Skelton. I’m a big fan of Skelton but I’m starting to worry. He had his fair share of injuries at the Dogs ans well and it hasn’t exactly been a smooth start here so having May would take a lot of pressure off.

Plus he’s played with Luai and Turuva so there’s also that connection.
i don't think our wings are a problem.

I.e. Skelton + Turuva... Why push one of these players to the bench. Taylan played Center with Penrith, put him there.

Naturally either of these two get injured, Taylan might count ahead of Staines/Naden... But we don't need that Depth, it's expensive and wasteful.

Our problem are Prop/Second Row and Center.

His brother is an extremely weak character if that’s the case. Why are so many adamant that a little punk like Galvin should be moved on for not getting what he wants, yet want to fawn all over May and the Fainu’s and make sure they are kowtowed to? Do you really want to foster that sort of toxic culture.
When u have been on the bottom for the last 3 years u have to start somewhere, and if the means just cutting small corners to get off the bottom Iam all for it

Do u really think his brother is not going to be pissed off , I can see him asking for a release or his form will drop big time , the club can sign him on a contract filled with options to sack him if he stuffs up , there’s only one loser here and it’s the tigers ,
Terrell is his own man and has openly discussed his own concerns with his brother.

I think your projecting your own insecurities forward here.

Not that I believe the Media but reports are coming out T May has signed with south’s if this is true and we re sign Naden and AD ahead of T May it really makes it hard to have faith in this club.

We desperately need a strike centre.

Although AD has improved he’s not a centre he’s far too slow and Naden we all know what he offers which is arm grabbing tackles and penalties at crucial times.

Can someone explain how Taylan May is a better fit at Souths than he would be for us ?
Souths have Campbell Graham and Jack Wighton as their starting centres, we have Starford To’a and Adam Doueihi.
Who needs him more ?

Surley it’s not the case.
The fact his manager said 2 other clubs are interested but didn’t mention them hopefully indicates he is still in our plan.

We would be nuts not to bring him on.

Isn't there a fairly strong argument that Taylan May is not a strike centre?

I'm not against the signing but it's about future upside, he hasn't got any history of being a strike centre.

If he's in our plans it would be done then IMO.

We clearly have the upper hand on other clubs, he actually wants to be here.

And if we wanted him we've wasted all this time getting him NRL fit especially with our byes.

Souths look to have the full complement of 30 players unless they squeeze another out

Some folks just like to ride the tigers disaster train and everything is a fk up.

Here we are with the best signings in years and a chance of making the 8 with a bloke in charge who has a track record of success in rugby league as a shrewd operator

We could make the GF this year and you'd still have ppl bitching about the club making the wrong decisions...

One of my favourite movie quotes is from 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger comments on everyone obsessing over this one particular girl. He says “What is it with this chick? Has she got beer flavoured nipples?”. It’s how I’m starting to feel about May. Yes he can play, but he also hasn’t played in over a year. And people thinking he’d walk back into the game at a club like ours and be dominant. It just wouldn’t happen. Everyone wants him in the centres, when his track record in the centres isn’t anything to get excited about. And that is even taking into account the fact he’s a loose cannon.

He’s still better than Naden AD and Toa put togerther worth the risk on a low cost contract with a few behavioural clauses put in.
Unfortunately none of our centres excite me it’s certainly an area we need to improve on as well as our forwards.

Is it benji or Richo or both , who have decided to not go for a player who COULD be good for us but for some reason, there no word from the club , surely they should come out and say why he is not been signed , ur we are still working throw a contract, are club is the worst for informing us fans

But what club gives a step by step, work-in-progress recruitment update?
Richo has already stated that the members/fans will be the first to hear when a player is signed.

He actually didn’t . He played most of his career on the wing . Mandela effect in full swing… because we all could have sworn he was a centre and only a centre ….
