OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

I'm not making a case that douhei is our long term centre..

Im just calling out how premature it is to invest all hope into a guy who's clearly battling personal demons and hasn't stepped onto a footy field in 2 years. Its typical tigers fans delusion (I am fully guilty of this myself)... The same way everyone is pinning hopes on Mansinki.. it's way to early to even throw the kids name in the mix for NRL cause he's not even close to standard yet. Alot can happen between now and 2 years..
Mate stop making crap up. His last game was in May last year.

We need to recruit a good centre in addition to May. Tigers post included advice that May has played only 8 games at centre in the NRL.

Doueihi has come back from 3 knee reconstructions. He is not a man that lacks courage or heart. He makes our 17 every week and at this time is one of the first two centres chosen.
Agree with all that PC1 but don’t think he has what it takes to play 13. You will note he invariably concedes into the tackle, never attacks the line at full speed and whilst his defence much better he’s more a scragger than a full blooded tackler.

I believe he is tentative due to his knee which is understandable. Close family who are rehab physiotherapists described the difficult rehab from a knee reconstruction. They treat many young netballers so I have the utmost respect for Doueihi returning from 3.

You realise that young Luke Metcalf, is actually not so young being roughly the same age as Doueihi and also came back from 3 ACL injuries. If confidence is stopping Doueihi for reaching ‘his full potential’ then let him get that confidence back in cup. Connor Tracey the same!

Even on one knee he's doing a much better job than the KOE boys would do unless we run with my earlier suggestion of giving Jeral a shot, but that's a risk.
It's the same reason Seyfarth is a starter, we have nobody else.

Yes I am aware Metcalfe's knee injuries as well as the Bulldog's fullback. Healing is not linear if that is what you are suggesting. Clearly the team needs an influx of talent and Doueihi needs to lift his passing and running but he makes our 17.

You can't have 'too many' quality players.

Right now Turuva, Skelton, To'a & Doueihi are 1st team with Luke Lualili'i, Staines & now Taylan May in the mix, Add in Junior Tupou (would absolutely bring him back) & Makasini to the mix. That is quality depth. The 'top end' of the talent MIGHT not be as good as some of the elite players, but the lowest end is of much higher quality than the likes of Naden, Feledy etc.

You can definitely win a lot of games with those players in the outside backs.

What's reconstructions got to do with anything? Both our centres need to be better. Because our backline is not top 8 ta the moment. Douhie on the bench or depth of Taylan comes.

I thought maybe this guy could be turned into a second rower, he’s big, powerful, fast a bit like Tago at Panthers when he played there, not that he was any good. Then we signed KPP

I agree that his courage is undeniable. In a similar vein, I saw Skelton's high ball dropsy count vs Penrith and wondered whether he was struggling to confidently leap into the air due to his strapped hammy?
