well summarised. what a joke. tell a player to move on and he wants the coach to apologise?

just so bloody pathetic.

Where did the story that "JT apologised to Farah,". change to "Farah wanted the Coach to apologise"
Hasn't taken long for the story to be rewritten to suit the anti Farah brigade.
Seems like the kiddies are really throwing a tantrum because this hasn't ended the way that they wanted.
Well this looks like the way that the season is going to at least start, so can we have a bit less Farah bashing at least up until the season starts. .

It's not easy hearing a SORRY coming out of Jason Taylors mouth. It's called a Man in desperation mode in saving his Career, a Coach that never was.
Like I have always said it's only a matter of time for him and thoughts haven't changed.
Tried to take the focus of his Coaching for the year and tried to turn the attention on Farah….that he was the absolute problem in all this.

Farah doesn't suffer fools … Taylors a Fool !

I think Farah actually believes this.

This is Pascoe's solution - He has come to the club to do a job and realises he is little to no chance of bringing his bankers on board with this mess dominating. It wouldn't surprise me if he simply told both parties to pull there heads in, as we re moving on without doing any real research.

The problem isn't between Farah & Taylor. The problem has been at the club longer than Taylor. It's a behaviour problem, and this solution is only putting water on the scrub fire which has broken out to the side of the bush fire. The statements on behalf of either party cant disappear. If you search the articles, they still remain.

I chuckle at those preaching about 'unification' and 'time to move on'. They believe they are being loyal supporters of the club, but they are simply pretending there isnt a problem at Wests Tigers, no different to Pascoes solution.

This problem will raise its head again and drag the club through the mud once more…. This is not a solution!

Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor has guaranteed Robbie Farah the No.9 jersey to start round one with Farah's replacement **as skipper Aaron Woods declaring he and his Tigers teammates would have been "filthy" if the club let Farah leave.**

Woods was officially unveiled as Farah's successor as skipper after Farah stepped down from the role amid uncertainty surrounding his future. While Farah maintains his place in the leadership team, Woods will captain the side. Veterans Chris Lawrence and Dene Halatau are the club's vice-captains.

New Wests Tigers captain Aaron Woods speaks to the media with coach Jason Taylor.

While Farah was a taboo subject at the Tigers announcement on Friday, Taylor said "absolutely" when asked if the NSW hooker would start the year in first grade despite threats to demote him to reserve grade.

"He has trained well enough to make that position his own," Taylor said. "It's been his position and I don't see any reason why that will change between now and the start of the season.

"There's been lots of positive conversations between Robbie and myself over a period of time. We have got to a great result this week and that's off the back of a lot of hard work from both of us putting the club first. I spoke to Robbie before [the Wood's announcement] and he is really excited for Woodsy."

Farah's guaranteed inclusion comes as new recruit Matt Ballin recovers from a knee injury which is likely to sideline him for the opening weeks of next year. Woods said he was grateful Farah had re-committed to the club and would use him as a sounding board for advice.

"I would have been filthy," Woods said had Farah left. "I would have hated to have played against him. He is such a good player and he knows how all the boys play here. He can be a coach when he retires.

"A lot of the boys would have been filthy too. We don't have to worry about that any more, we are happy he is staying."

At 24, Woods is set to become the youngest captain in the NRL next year. The change in leadership is a sign of the times at the Tigers with Woods, a Leichhardt Juniors graduate, given the opportunity to lead the next generation of Tigers player including James Tedesco, Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks.

"We've used it a lot as an excuse lately that we've got a young squad," Woods said. "They've all played two-four years of first grade footy. We have to take a bit of an ownership on ourselves and we have to get results for the club. The fans have been waiting. It's our job to make it come true.

"I always wanted to be captain. Robbie is a competitor and a pretty intense guy. I'm a lot more laidback and relaxed but there will be times when I have to be on the ball a bit more now.

"I've got my own ways of doing things and he has his ways."

Farah guaranteed No. 9, Woods captain

Less than four months after being told he would be exiled into reserve grade, former Wests Tigers skipper Robbie Farah has been guaranteed the number nine jumper in round one of the 2016 NRL season.

On the same day Aaron Woods was ushered in as the new captain, the old one was given a stunning appraisal of his pre-season by coach Jason Taylor.

Asked whether he would assure Farah his cherished No. 9 spot next year, Taylor said: "Absolutely.

"He's trained well enough to make that decision his own. It's been his position. I don't see any reason why that will change between now and the start of the season."

It is a full 180 from the club's stance back in late August, when the 31-year-old was threatened with a demotion to NSW Cup should he not find a new team to play for.

A switch to the Sydney Roosters beckoned when Farah formally requested a release from Concord just four weeks ago.

However after months of drama and speculation, the impasse between Farah and Taylor is seemingly over after the premiership-winning hooker endorsed Taylor's appointment of Woods, after Farah himself had been appointed to the leadership group.

"I talked to Robbie just before this meeting about how he was feeling about an announcement," Taylor said.

"We talked about the fact that it was not only going to be Woodsy, but how he felt about the announcement, whether he was having any second thoughts.

"But he was really comfortable with it."

Woods admitted that the Farah saga had weighed heavily over the club during the start of pre-season.

"It's good we got over that. It was hanging on the club in the pre-season but we've moved on from that and we're moving to bigger and better things now," he said.

More laid back and relaxed in nature, Woods, who immediately sought Farah upon learning of his promotion, said his captaincy would be far different to that of his "pretty intense" predecessor.

But the 24-year-old said he wasn't afraid of putting his foot down when needed, even if it was to stand up to his long-time teammate.

"He's not that hard to control. You guys make it out as if he's pretty hard," Woods said.

"He's one of my best mates. We always talk with each other the way mates do and we're honest with each other so if we think he's stepping in too much or if he's taking too much control we'll talk to him."

Veterans Chris Lawrence and Dene Halatau were also introduced as vice-captains.

And so it continues .. There's Robbie…. And the rest of the team

well if you meant that in the context of

"I would have been filthy," Woods said had Farah left. "I would have hated to have played against him. He is such a good player and he knows how all the boys play here. He can be a coach when he retires.

I am not sure of what you mean

And the comment from Woods in the link I posted about the misconception that Farah is difficult to get along with. Seems some of the truth is coming out Happy but don't let that stop you.

This is a club in CRISIS and it will all boil over next season , the players run this club have done for years as the quotes in the papers today reveal ..our new captain has said as much ! My advice to Taylor get out while you still have some dignity left as you have no respect left at this club .

Someone needs to tell Taylor about Hole Theory 101 - when you're in one, stop digging.

It's long been farcical. It's now down right embarrassing.

If he has apologised then why did it take so long? Why allow the club to be damaged so much?

Has it taken him this long to realise he said or did something that he needed to apologise about?

Or, is it the desperate realisation that he is one step away from being booted and he will stubbornly and selfishly (as usual for Taylor) do anything to keep his job?

Oh dear….snake. Brace yourself for some magpiecol wisdom after a comment like that!

X2 Just click your heels and say, there's no place like home.

I don't blame Pascoe though. He had the unenviable job of finding a solution to the media maelstrom that was hammering WT, albeit short term.

Great, so now that we're taking players comments at face value, we can agree all the players that have publicly backed the coach have been genuine. Fantastic.

There have been pages and pages of debate on this topic. While it was being played out, many posters who backed JT to get rid of Robbie based their argument on the fact that the club was bigger than one player and if the club wanted Robbie gone we should support the decision.

W-e-l-l the club made its decision, Robbie stayed, JT apologised and we move on. Same as if Robbie was forced to leave.

I don't get the continued vitriole. The club made its decision and we continue to support the club.

Week 2 interview trying to justify himself of this signing and nothing to do with Farah, Week 4 spin….team looking great, great energy :blah :blah usual spin. Hope he mentioned results don't matter.

Bennett is clear spoken and knows how to handle the media as much as his abrupt at times, nothing fazes him and his short answers give the media nothing.

A ban implies to me that he is not to talk to the Media at all that simply isn't true or is it a selective ban…you can't have it both ways,,,

Seems the spin must be catching,,

If results don’t come the Tigers’ way in the first half of the 2016 season, Pascoe said Taylor’s contract, which runs until the end of 2017, was not in jeopardy.
>
“Jason Taylor is 100 per cent the coach for the 2016 season. **No one coach can be judged on wins and losses alone** and **we’re not going to be judging him on that,”** he said.

You know that is all :blah :blah , just like the Club was going in a different direction without Farah  please.
Also his in the Leadership group already before his supposed meeting on the 22nd of December on his appraisal of training and how his conducting himself? :roll

If results don't go his way next year he will not see 2017 .

Hold up …I thought we were talking about Taylor being placed on a Media ban by the Club ...If your questioning what he or the Club says in the Media that is a totally different debate...

Your initial comment was.. What Club puts a Media ban on their coach..? I gave you examples of Taylor speaking in the Media..If you mean he was banned on commenting about Farah...... well the Club made it clear on numerous occasions that until the situation was resolved that negotiations would be private and confidential between the player and the Club...that hardly constitutes a Media Ban...

If you think its going to be rainbows and lollipops from now on you're in denial. There's no way they can work together, one has to go. Farah's clearly not, so that leaves Taylor. Its not like he has control over the side anyway. People saying its over don't seem to understand the moment we're struggling next yr, which is inevitable, the media will drag this up again.

Might just get that membership now!

I was meaning in relation with Farah and like I said he handled it very poorly that interview on the 2nd Day of pre-season where the media nailed him. Before then we had no CEO, the Club went quite and that is where the problem lied, they allowed the situation get out of hand by going quiet for so long.

Farah only confirmed that an apology took place, he didn't go into details and said no further comment, so in a way his protecting JT by not embarrassing the bloke with details of what happened.
