Teddy Misses Kangaroos

How does that "MYTH" Moylan get a start before Teddy?

Please this fella is by far 'Not a Myth' he will infact put pressure on Teddy for the fullback position come next years origin.
However I can't applaud the selection of Duggan and Ferguson these two are duds. But the Canberra connection of coaches seem to like em.

2017 is Teddy's year these things happen for a reason , needs some surgery and the concussion issue is a worry and needs addressing .He can have a strong off season and be fresh and ready to carve up at all levels next season!

If we didn't have Moses I'd be championing for chasing Moylan. Both he and Teddy are outstanding players.

Teddy has had a rough end to the year in terms of injuries. He'd be going in underdone I would imagine.

Mal says "Darius Boyd is the premier full back at the monent." - If thats the case, Mal is either biased or the Dally M's are a joke and really mean nothing.

just or unjust,it gives teddy a good chance to recouperate for 2017.

darius boyd must be related to a selector.
to me ,he is grossly overrated.
obviously i dont understand football very well.

pretty sure he needed some nose surgery (broken bone behind/in his nose from Thurston) and was going to miss out regardless

add in 2 concussions and a jaw. couldn't be happier

i suspect he'd already discussed it with Sheens and therefore not been picked

Sheens aint been involved in Aus selection for near 2 years - But carry on….

they seam like sheens selections to me… conspiracy!!!!!!

haha crap

knew it sounded a bit weird talking about sheens, couldnt figure out why. its only been 1 year though, mid 2015 he finished up

****meninga

Boyd has been the best Fullback over the last 2 years. He was probably Queenslands best player throughout the 3 games this year and was never going to get dropped. That left them with the question to move him to Mansour's Wing or keep him at Fullback? I'd prefer Mansour keep his spot as a specialist winger and has been good all year.

Personally, I think Teddy's only chance of touring was if the NSW Selectors put him ahead of Moylan. Those blokes are obsessed with Moylan and have been for a long time. Whether its Goulds strangle hold over a few key people at NSWRL Headquarters, or the NSW Selectors have banked on him being a future captain of the Blues I dont know. One thing is for certain, Moylan is the Golden Child of the NSWRL!

Mal likes Dugan, so he will get first crack at Right Centre. However, I wont be surprised if O'niell and Holmes end up together by the end of the tournament if Dugan doesnt fire.

Well done to Woodsy, he has improved year on year and will one day become the premier Prop in the competition… Lets SMASH these free-loading Kiwi's!!!

The Dally M's are a joke… Mickey Mouse system voted by the commentators everyone seems to whine about week to week?

I'm also pretty certain Boyd polled more points than Tedesco in the tally?

You only need to look back to last year... Benji Marshall was the Runner Up in the Dally M?!

I wonder how Teddy feels about it?

He'd be disappointed and rightfully so.

Like I said, I'd be happy for him if he were picked, but let's face it we'd be all devastated if he popped his ACL and was rubbed out for another 12 months.

Yeah but how much an improved played did Tedesco come back after his spell with Italy at the last world cup?

Sometimes a rep tour can really spur on the performance of a player, especially an emerging rep player.

For mine I think it's a joke. Moylan got picked for 2 Origins only because Tedesco was injured, failed both times, then was hooked for Game 3 in favour of Tedesco.

Tedesco goes on to win Dally M player of year.

It's bollocks that Moylan can cover multiple positions, because he doesn't even play halves for his own club. He's been put at 5/8th before and failed because they mark up strong on him. Moylan is not a powerful player, he is a silky one, but that doesn't get you far at rep level when everyone in the opposition makes their tackles and hits hard.

And Mal is indeed smoking some serious weed if Boyd is the "premier" fullback of the comp. Err Tedesco just won the award for premier fullback you short-sighted one-eyed peanut. Actually, on account of Billy Slater, Boyd has only played 3 Origin games at FB ever - just 2 more than Tedesco.

SPOT ON!
But, whatever, it's always been a popularity contest that can run contrary to Origin selection and actual form. It used to be that way when Steve Walters continually got the nod ahead of Benny Elias, and when they found so many reasons not to drop Langer for the clearly superior Ricky Stuart.

Ability to play at 6 and 1.

Willow gets it

Tried and shelved at club level already.

I honestly don't think he's big or robust enough to defend front-line all game and still be an offensive threat. And his kicking game?

How on earth can you be Dally M fullback of the year, who can equally play well on the wing, yet miss out to Dugan and Ferguson..?…and please Mat Moylan....**I'll be cheering against the Roos on this tour….**

The only good thing is Teddy will be fully rested for 2017…..

..and that is as pathetic as it gets..

All of the following should not be there….
\
\
Blake Ferguson (Roosters)

Jake Friend (Roosters)

Matt Gillett (Broncos)

Justin O'Neill (Cowboys)

Sam Thaiday (Broncos)

Coach: Mal Meninga

He's poor defensively as a fullback, let alone having to defend in the front line for 80 mins.
That said, he'd have quality defenders on either side of him (regardless of who makes the team), so it probably wouldn't matter too much.

With Boyd playing well and a favourite of Mal's, also Inglis and Dugan in the side, they have gone for Moylan for his utility value over Teddy. A tough call but probably a calculated one.
One thing on Teddy however … the NRL has to do something about the specific targeting of star players, the cheap shots and outright attempts to hurt a player. I think Teddy was smashed around all season and most of his injuries came from low acts that were intended, yet the NRL did nothing to stamp this out. I am still furious over the way James got off for breaking his jaw!!
