Tedesco deal not going ahead now; guys
Spoke to the source last night.

Good news for us.

Taane miln defo available tho

My sauce said it was deffo going ahead!

My sauce, needs salt and a bit of sugar to cut through the acidity.

Teddy and Woods both sitting on the fence in interviews regarding their contract talks…Whilst I want and would love to see them stay, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they both leave. They want to play finals football and it's not going to happen at the Tigers this season.

Don't be surprised if Cleary takes over and punts whoever does not re-sign. What's the point? This is a re-building year. No point keeping them in first grade if they have no future here. Look what the Cowboys did with Ponga.

Catalyst for JTs sacking and pascoes strong wording around wanting to be successful maybe?

Must say teddy is the only star we have and a Magpie junior so if he isn't retained what a fail.
If he goes they may as well release everyone.
Still haven't got over losing Taupau Austin and JAC.

And if they don't start winning the new coach has to really clean out the joint.

How much more losing do we need to endure? Surely we're already at the point of cleanout time.

All this talk of the Dogs and it's probably the Roosters who'll swoop.

If you believe the Lurker, Roosters will not deal with Moses-managed agents since Mitchell reneged on his deal.

Someone asked Dean Richie on Twitter if Tedesco would stay. He answered "pretty sure he will mate" Paul Kent on Matty Johns just said that no other Club can match our offers to these players. I think we're worried about not too much. You can say "not about the money I want to play Semis" but any young bloke would accept the highest offer especially if it's from his current Club, and where his mates are.

My gut feeling is we may retain him, but it's still a stressful time to be a supporter of this club. I don't want to jinx it, but if they're going to leave, why haven't they left already? It seems like they are willing to give Cleary an ear. If that's the case I would think Cleary is experienced enough to get them to buy into his vision. Hell, maybe they are already signed and the club wants to announce Cleary first. Maybe to give Cleary an instant credibility boost among the supporters that will get us enthusiastic again. I can dream.

Ronald McDonnell never did much at our club ,so he gets the job at the dogs on the proviso he brings our stars over …woods isn't worth a million ,teddy is the only million dollar player we have ....

Who knows what is happening but one thing for sure is that people are reading way too much into simple answers given by Woods and Tedesco.

This is only my opinion, but I feel that the 4 of them didn't like or couldn't be motivated by Taylor. I think the Club knew this and will appoint an experienced Coach that they are satisfied with. I also think they'll all re-sign. Win a bloody game and this speculation will die down.

I don't think the club should be paying overs for these guys. No good having 4 good players and 21 non-nrl players on your list and to be frank none of them have done anything to command superstar money with the exception of Tedesco who I would be retaining as our marquee.

It's crap that they want to stay together it's just their player manager working the angles and trying to dips our stupid management.

Precisely. I don't think there's any way to calm a whole forum, either you react to this stuff or you don't.

Personally, the idea of listening to an interview, where the player does not say the words "I am leaving"… why bother interpreting it? You don't even know the player personally to have any background on his demeanour or head-space. You also must take into account that media is not primarily for fact-telling, it's for selling information to people, and fast / juicy information sells best right now. So much of what players say is coded, is either edited to remove all personal opinion, or with some aim, with some end-goal in mind.

The example I keep giving is Elijah Taylor, there was really acute talk last year about him going to union, but it never happened, and for all we know it was just a tactic to put some pressure on the Tigers. Certainly no other NRL club made a public offer to ET. So what a waste of energy to worry about what Tigers were doing about ET, we didn't know anything for certain, better to just wait and judge the outcome.

Great article by Roy on the power the player managers have

I've said this before, accredited player agents should receive a fixed fee for player contracts rather than a percentage. X amount of accredited agents licences issued by the NRL. Equal number of players distributed to each manager randomly. If player agents are only receiving a fixed fee there's more motivation for contract negotiations to be streamlined and less likely to see incidences that we are seeing with Moses and his four "star" players holding a club to ransom.

May sound like a Communistic approach but it's the only way you'll stop these sorts of shady deals happening, when the player agent gets a fixed fee rather than a commission.
