THE 4......THREAD

It was never going to be a happy ending and I guess it will probably get worse, but as good as these kids are we would have a far better team if we could spread the cap right across the roster, rather than have some really good players and a lot of average players.

Anyway one thing for certain you can not have these toxic managers calling the shots how a club is run

It's a leap of faith for us at the moment - we had high hopes for Moses and we have to see what happens with Woods and Tedesco, ultimately though we have to have faith in Cleary and remember that we should have plenty of money to recruits others.

I just heard that Thurston is playing his last year at the Cowboys for $1M. To think that Woods or Moses wants the same kind of money is outrageous. Thurston understands that for a club to be successful, you can't have a few players hogging the cap. I'm sure he could have got more elsewhere if he wanted.

I wouldn't care one bit if Woods left and got his big contract elsewhere, more money for us to build a decent forward pack. For a giant of a man, he has no intensity.

As for Moses, good riddance. 6 good games does not make you a million dollar player. I'm actually kind of peeved that the club offered that much (although I hear that figured has been inflated).

My one disappointment would be losing Teddy. But he is not irreplaceable, and he isn't a golden ticket for success (demonstrated by our lack of success to date).

Looks like Ivan is on the right track.

Its clear for the last 12 months Moses, Brooks, Woods and maybe Teddy have held the WT to ransom. Its also clear that the WT wanted to keep all 4 of them, they apparently have tabled massive, above market offers to Teddy, Moses and Woods…Its also clear that with the appointment of Ivan Cleary the WT have drawn a line in the sand with players holding the club to ransom...**.may this line never waver!.**

I think everyone is sick of it, as a club we've been a soft touch for far too long. As someone mentioned above Thurston is getting a Mil a season he's one of the best if not the best in the game he can win you matches on his own take a team to a premiership.
None of the guys the so called big 4 are even in the same post code and therefore shouldnt be expecting that sort of coin.
I think you'll find for Teddy, Woods and now to a lesser extent Moses will gladly accept less to go to other teams such as the dogs, roosters and Eels. So why do they expect so much to stay?
If they truely are what they think they are premier players in the game the Big 4 they should have been influencing and winning games for us, clearly they aren't capable of that as a group so a lot of this situation we and they find themselves in is their own doing…

Looking forward to having all this additional money to be very active on the players market.

Widdop and Cronks in our halves would be very nice and could build a team around them.

Need to buy some NRL standard centres, second rowers and a mean prop.

Whare would be good.

Bring back Blair and jag O'Neill from the Cowboys and you could have a nice old reunion.

Good to see the club make their position clear on the "Big 4"!….

Moses was at the bottom of that list and the club has stated this to his manager..

The club realises we need to turn over our roster to be a force next year and the years to come.

if we pay overs to retain the big 4 we cant afford to buy the players around them to be that force...thus the decision yesterday on Moses...Good move by the Club.....

So funny..end 2016 Brooks get rid of him…Moses must have...

fickle bunch...

I think Geo the problem is Brooks is coming quite a bit cheaper now and Moses has fallen away dramatically in the last 5 weeks.

I personally have always been of the opinion that Brooks is potentially a classier footballer than Moses but his energy is all wrong, and he doesn't keep his performance consistent on the field. Moses is the opposite, he's all energy but I feel that his game is also very fragile, he had a good patch last year but he's back to where he was in 2015.

With Cronk on the market it looks as strong a chance as ever that we won't keep Broses together, and Brooks is working out to be the far cheaper option. If Moses was willing to sign on for $550K, might be a different tune for some people.

I'm not referring to Money..even still 550K is still a fair whack out of the Cap for a Dud hardly anyone wanted to keep..Or is he a less of a Dud now he's accepted less to stay even though he wanted to stay …

The last one! In the face of several players asking for big salaries and taking their time to commit, Brooks is suddenly in the higher graces for committing first and doing so at the lowest of the potential salaries.

Brooks is also conspicuously quiet in the media quotes of recent weeks.

I would say general opinion has Moses as the better form footballer right now, but not so much better as to justify his asking price and tantrum yesterday.

The tantrum has only added to the ticks in the Brooks column.

It seems I am not the only one to be enjoying he fact that the wheels are finally turning. We let this Ghost agent presumably with no professional qualification negoatiate collectively for a group of kids. What a joke. He is clearly a grubby snake - letting kids barely above legal drinking age represent themselves to the public and media, and we know the NRL has him on the chopping block (hint to the 4 lads …).

We invested wat too much in these players ... but we can only say that in hindsight. It's a gamble that will not pay off. They are all overhyped and overpriced. Yes we have had issues, some would argue as a result of trying to keep them, but I can only hope that cleary has the balls to take back control of this young and struggling club from a bunch of brats and their filthy manager.

Woods is no captain and not a leader. His lack of passion smells so strong it's not funny. I hate hearing him speak at anytime. He is a big bloody kid with limited matter between his ears.

Teddy is pure talent. He also has shot legs, a growing ego, and there is oodles of young talent just behind him. One game away from major injury, and should never be mentioned next to slater or the like before he has played 15 origins and test caps. Maybe he will make it.

Moses. I will change my Elias avatar for this king spoilt arrogant brat. Talent sure. Arrogance, huge measure. Game winner? No. Not yet. Consistent? Far far from it. Cannot believe we offered him $1mil a season. So glad he is off to suck up another teams salary cap

Brooks. Took what he was worth if reports are true. Hope he kicks on here or elsewhere. Consistency needed.

I am relieved and excited to know the Brats and the snake are no longer in charge

I trust Cleary to rebuild this club.

This rubbish won't happen again.

These players have carried themselves poorly and I will maintain that with Woods and Teddy even if they stay.

How the hell is the team meant to perform with all this garbage

Woods and Tedesco have the offer from the NEW coach with plenty of (allegedly) counter bids coming in.

Please for their own reputations and the Weststiger's who got them this far make up your mind fast 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: :deadhorse:

I think I've figured out the problem with the big 4\. They have all the hallmark traits of a stereotypical millennial:

- They lack loyalty
- They are self-entitled
- They are not committed
- They overrate their own abilities
- _They lack grit[[/u]/i]
- Everything is someone else's fault. They struggle to take responsibility
- They are self-absorbed show-boaters
- They respond poorly to criticism. Instead of taking criticism on board or trying to prove critics wrong, they sulk and moan and feel sorry for themselves.\
\
I wouldn't be surprised if they have already asked for ping pong tables, candy walls and sleeping cubes at Concord._

_That is what our team lacks at the moment in a simple nutshell_

_Totally agree flush the crap out of the club now…..._

What can i say that not been said, These Players have been looked after when they have been injured & some have been paid on potential. Some of theses players dont care about the club or their supporters who help pay their wages, I would love to see us keep Teddy & Woods but if we dont some one else will come along & i will continue to support the Wests Tigers.I like a lot of other supporters would like to see that grub manager go & Uncle Benny as well as all he does is try to cause trouble Rant over.

What a sad day today is ..reading the back page of the Telecrap this morning "Hey Mini help me get out of this mess" these players have been paid overs for years and looked after and this is where it has ended up and this is the attitude these guys have .Our club has made a stand at last and I applaud them for this ,what these guys have said in the media of late is very disappointing..just man up sign up or pee OFF!

100% right. We have an opportunity to strengthen the team across the park rather than have a handful of big paid players taking uo the cap. Look how much better Parra have glne since Hayne left, they are a better team without him.
