The Bali 9

The issue was many police were treating Amrozi like a hero and having photos taken with him outside of court

That was just unbelievable in my opinion and the reason I will never go back

I'll never go to Bali, it's a Clayton's holiday. Much rather go to Fiji, they're awesome hosts.

LOL so ironic. So you wont go to indonesia/bali but you will go to fiji? You do know about the human rights issues there too right?

My point is if you are going to sound all high and might about rights etc you need to be morally consistent and if you stand by those values you will have a very limited number of countries you can go.

 Oh dear…

Where did I say I wouldn't go to Indonesia on any sort of political or human rights stance? Bali just doesn't appeal to me, I am allowed to not want to travel somewhere simply because I thought I wouldn't enjoy it. I've been to Fiji, well aware of the political troubles and such they've had there.

Moreover, I'm not the one harping on over Indonesia's supposed lack of values or human rights. In fact, I'm actually supporting Indonesia in saying they have the right as a sovereign nation to determine their own laws and enforce them the way they see fit.

Epic fail on your part.

Iommi wrote: "The lndonesian prison system has had great success in transforming Andrew and Myuran.

"I appeal to you, as a forgiving man, to take note of their transformation. They are now reformed men who are making a positive difference to the lives of their fellow prisoners. That they have been transformed so much is a real credit to the lndonesian authorities. For this reason, I would ask that you stop the execution of Andrew and Myuran."

Earlier this month, British metal act Napalm Death made a similar appeal to Widodo, who thrilled heavy rock fans by professing his love of the music. Now the stars Widodo respects are hoping to change the hard-line President's mind.

The letter was organised by Jon Dee, who is founder of the Australian charity DoSomething.

Iommi has been involved in DoSomething's project "Rock Aid Armenia" project for 25 years and has helped to build a music school in an Armenian earthquake zone for 200 children.

Iommi's letter, which was sent on a signed letterhead - with a contact phone number - read in full:

The President of lndonesia

3rd March 2015

Your Excellency, I am writing to appeal to you to grant clemency to Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

I understand and respect your efforts to combat drug abuse in lndonesia, this is something that all countries are having to deal with.

lndeed, I have seen first hand the negative impacts that drugs can have on people and their families. That is why I understand your strong views on this issue. The lndonesian prison system has had great success in transforming Andrew and Myuran.

I appeal to you, as a forgiving man, to take note of their transformation. They are now reformed men who are making a positive difference to the lives of their fellow prisoners.

That they have been transformed so much is a real credit to the lndonesian authorities.

For this reason, I would ask that you stop the execution of Andrew and Myuran.

Please allow them to serve out life sentences where they contribute to the wellbeing of lndonesia and make good for the error of their previous ways. I do hope you will consider this personal appeal.

Yours sincerely,

Tony Iommi

Guitarist, Black Sabbath.

After reading an article the other day where Matthew Norman said that Andrew Chan threatened him and his family if he didn't go along with the operation, i really have no sympathy for that low life grub, ''reformed'' or not. People say ''oh they didn't kill anyone'', well if the fact that they were willing to bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars of herion that would have destroyed families isn't enough to convince people, Chan was quite happy to kill whoever wasn't willing to go along with the plan, and their families, at the very least he was making threats.

And on the topic of them being reformed, for which crimes do you draw the line and say mercy should be shown because individuals are reformed? Would we fight for pedophiles and murderers if they were reformed? Drug smuggling might not be as bad, but it isn't much better.

Personally, i'll be glad when this thing is and forgotten about.

Agree with the last line, what is most sickening is the media circus. We know these two blokes are going to meet an unfortunate end in a couple of days, we're well aware. We don't need to see recycled footage over 24 hours showing when they've been moved. The media are providing death porn for the public and everyone is swallowing it up. A result of a society that gets its kicks from watching what Kim Kardashian is doing or who won Big Brother.

I loathe drug smugglers, I've been personally affected by drug crime and I hate everything that the junkies and suppliers are. Junkies are only here because there is a supply though, and while I certainly won't say I'm elated these blokes will die (I have a complicated opinion on the death penalty,) I will not shed a tear for them either. In practice I don't support the death penalty and I don't like hearing about anyone being executed. In all honesty I think it is a cheap way out for offenders, but the one thing that really annoys me about this whole Bali 9 thing is the way that abolitionists want to marginalise the personal responsibility of these two blokes for their crimes. Unfortunately not every country has piss weak laws like Australia in respect to drugs. They rolled the dice in a sovereign nation (corruption and politicisation of this issue aside,) that has it's own right to determine its laws and appropriate punishment for those laws as they see fit and they lost. They weren't two unlucky fellas who got banged up abroad, they were knowingly engaging in crime and must personally assume sole responsibility for their predicament.

^^^^^^^^^^^ Wish we still had the like button…

I just want it over...sick of it...

They should not be in this position, nor their mules that were left in the prison the pair were removed from overnight. Our federal authorities were complicit in them being arrested in the first place, and now our politicians are asking for mercy. Go figure.

The media are loving every minute of it, the sick bastards. Words cannot express how much i despise the media. If the media covering this whole thing were lined up themselves to be shot i'd open a bottle of champagne. Even if they were innocent and drugs were planted i'd still celebrate. They are the absolute lowest form of vermin on the planet.

I'm sick of people saying what would you if it was your child

So when my child does something else wrong I should say its my child so that makes it ok

They had done it more than once even Renae Lawrence admits that

When in Rome …......., you break the law and you pay the price

I can't remember which one , but an Eastern European country has the death penalty for getting caught DUI 3 times
