The Cambo Curse

In the old days of Reschs cans and the old hill of Orana Park teams hated coming to Campbelltown. it was either a dustbowl or a quagmire. sure they might put 50 on us but ocassionally we ambushed them. there was no hiding as an opposition player you could hear the comical abuse from the faithful. Wests were Campbelltown, they lived, trained and drank at the bradbury and the court. The locals supported them even if they followed the dogs or souths or eels. now they blow in 4 times a year and expect to fill the ground. Until tigers commit 100% to the area they will not be successful. they will not keep the galvins or TDS until kids grow up following a local team. at least 6 or 7 games a year at Orana and 4 at LO.

Newtown Jets fan eh? Because that was their time too.

You cannot have a homeground advantage at grounds other teams regularly play at.

Homebush would mean that we have no advantage over the Dogs or Souths. Same as there is no advantage in playing Parramatta at our home ground Commbank stadium
Don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, nor do I like using Melbourne as an example, but in Bleak City there are now only 3 grounds. MCG, Marvel and Geelong and all games in Melbourne are played there.
It hasn’t changed the loyalty of the fans one bit and ensures good crowds coz of a) facilities and b) access by public transport.
Now tell me if we couldn’t utilise Accor, Commbank, Allianz and Penrith the same way. And it wouldn’t necessarily mean Penrith got added advantages coz any games likely to draw more than their stadium capacity would immediately be transferred to a bigger stadium ie Accor or Commbank.
It’s neat and clean and once everyone gets over the “tribal” bullshit it works.
Just an idea.

Sounds like they all have no other choice

Sometimes it’s just easier to blame a ground, or the weather, or the day of the week, or anything else that should have zero impact on the performance of a professional sports team. Could be the height of cut on the grass maybe?
Hey @GNR4LIFE...just wondering why you deleted your post that Sco77y replied to here, as both posts are well worth reading.
