The club deserves the Spoon

This inexperienced team can take a lot away from this game. I thought they gave it everything and their enthusiasm was really refreshing.

Were my thoughts exactly after sitting through that.
Some positives to take from that especially for the young guys, sometimes a tough loss like that hurts that bad that it ends up being a blessing in disguise down the track.

Well written. Although disappointed with the result, the players gave everything and our young players really put in tonight. We are building nicely having found another youngster capable of playing consistent NRL.

This is just a crap topic.
The team and the coach are trying.
The drastic circumstances the Club finds itself on all fronts is terrible and would test any coach and administrator.
The last thing we all need is for so called supporters death riding the club even further.

You pathetic merkins should just depart the forum, so, we lost to the defending Premiers by 2 points at their home ground, give it away if you can't be positive about our club.

It's the fact that we lost against a team with half a dozen players out. We were leading by 8 with the full time siren almost blown and we lost. We have a right to be angry about this. Unlike yourself people on here are not satisfied with "almost winning".

Yep "almost won" is right up there with "come on next year". You get tired of hearing it after a year or 10\. lol

Fans have to remember, they have been through this before, but the 17 from tonight (by and large) have not.

If you can't live with it come back next year, it isn't going to change soon.

Let me add, at the 10 minute mark I was ready to give up. When we held them with 12 men and actually started to dominate I was chuffed, I was bitterly disappointed with the loss, but won't bag a team that puts in.

I like this post..I felt the same…We still can't defend errors or penalties well enough that showed at the end..but to take a lead with 12 men was a good sign..

The team is having a go, I don't doubt that, it's just that man for man across the park, we don't have the talent pure and simple, to put most teams away. It's frustrating to watch, but it's a rebuild the club needs. After placing faith and effort in the likes of Brooks, Moses, Teddy and Woods, we are now starting over. Next year's side already looks a lot better to me, with a bit more size and power across the field. In the meantime, people should just get used to the idea of getting the spoon.

How can you judge them? We all know they aren't good enough, so to sit there and try and critique them and give it to them for not getting better results is the definition of insanity. I'm over this year, the losses aren't really affecting me, I've tuned out. I think there's justifiable reason next year to demand better if we struggle. It's asking a lot to expect more from this current crop.

The love for Mediority is staggering well I suppose each to there own! I for one never accept it but that is my opinion .

Calm down, its yet again disappointing but this year is a write off. Only good for blooding our youngsters and we had a fair few of them in there today - Suli, Felise, Eisentuth, Marsters. The more game time they get, the better placed we will be for 2018.

X2

X 3

Said that before with Woods and Teddy and Moses…....oops :deadhorse:

We're (mostly) grown men on a rugby league forum on Saturday night, of course we are mediocre!

Better times will come mate, and this year is a write off as the best we can hope for is to finishe in the top 15

without 5/6 origin players LOL
it doesnt sound too bad on paper, 2 points.. but we were so so so lucky in the first half, with 5 sus penalties coming out of our own half.

The club looks set to collect the spoon it has been working hard towards ever since Sheens was re-signed for the last time.
I had high hopes for this season. I was convinced we'd break our finals drought. It is devastating that it has been sabotaged by the politics of the board and administration pushing out a club legend, then sacking the head coach, a player busted in dodgy betting allagations and three high profile players holding the club to ransom for half a year before all ditching it very publically. Im furious at these people. They deserve the bloody spoon shoved down their throats.
A lot of the players are trying. The problem is that wont matter when others have checked out. Some of the players out there tonight deserve the spoon. The majority do not.

We are the new North Sydney
2 tries scored against us in the last five minutes.
That's really what upsets people.

How many tries does our team let in just before half time and just before fulltime? That's what does my head in.

The other pain in my side is that Woods and Tedesco come back in and it makes no difference at all - we still lose.

But like a true moron, I'll still be around supporting them. Just don't tell me that I can't have my two bobs worth of truth telling.
