The club deserves the Spoon

Kyle Lovett is not good enough to play in the NRL. Average State Cup talent at best.
Not big, not fast, not skillful & sloppy handling.
**Must have contacts in high places.**
Tigers crazy to offer him a new contract.

Or maybe there's just been nobody better.

No team's supporters feel like their team deserves the spoon, but if we don't, who does? Our season was sabotaged the moment Taylor was sacked. From that point on the games with big 4 started, they didn't get the coach they wanted, one had a whinge and demanded a release, the other went on radio and admitted teams like the Roosters and Bulldogs look more appealing because they aren't always in the headlines. Even though that's a fundamental lie. Then our supposed captain spends weeks distancing himself from the club, making it so obvious even Stevie Wonder could see he's leaving. Then he announces he's leaving in Prima Dona fashion in an interview playing the victim card and spewing out lie after lie. And the club approved it!!!! So while a lot of our players might not deserve it, because they do try their guts out, in the bigger picture the club probably does.

This reminds me, I along with others stated after week 3 when JT got knifed our season was over… A few sneered and ridiculed that.
I wish I was wrong.

Cleary better have some drastic changes in store for next year because I'm getting sick very quickly of the way were playing currently

Ink the real turning point was Moses wanting out. We beat Cowboys and Bulldogs then Moses spat the dummy, by all reports even at training. This went in for weeks and we got worse the longer it went. He's gone now but his disparaging comments since joining the Eels have made it even worse again

How do people know what coach the players wanted? I get so over people on here telling us what happened and what the players think when quite frankly they know -
squat!
Unless you know the players personally you can read anything into what you want and come up with a loaded explanation.
The ridiculous thing is that if fans still cant see why Teddy and Woods have decided to move based on all the things we do know and are equally frustrated by as fans of this club, then you are just looking at someone else to blame instead of accepting where the big problem has always been and that is with years of inept management.

M Moses bad legacy should not last too long. the footie world is turning against him due to poor play at Parra. I don't know about other places but my club mates are laughing at him. As long as we avoid the spoon this year with the honour of everyone trying every week because that is what they get paid very well to do then all is almost good enough.

Hope Lovett is let go. He is a passenger.
Unlike Addo Carr (& others) don't think most fans will regret this decision.

'Tails, they're people's opinions and everyone has one.

Is it ridiculous to see Woods and Tedesco leave (because of poor management?) but others decide to stay with the same management in place?

Even Cleary has stated that he wasn't sure at first but after visiting the joint and talking to all levels of staff and management he can't work out what all the hoohaa is about.

Even though in a work environment I know some people love working there and others just hate the joint.

I have no idea in "fact" because I live in Central Queensland but I form my opinion based on what I hear and read from multiple sources - even this forum with it's plethora of threads and posts.

The wooden spoon usually means that a team scores that "prize" based on lots of injuries/depleted playing roster, and/or less than capable players of requisite first grade standard - over a period of time over the season.
Results rarely lie over the course of a season.
Wests Tigers have been among the cellar teams for a while now - BUT wooden-spooners from here in 2017, for me, appears highly unlikely, based upon the attitude of the players.
I've been quietly impressed with the way they are beginning to believe in themselves as a team, not just relying on magic individual moments.
Hang in there, there's light at the end - you just need to get on the bus!

The best thing to happen to this club was JT getting "knifed". Yes we have a mediocre squad and i dont think too many coaches could do more with this squad. But look at the players cleary has attracted for next year. How many of them would have come if JT was going to be coach next year? Or if even JT was kept till the end of the year. The only thing the club did wrong was bringing JT back this year. Imagine losing woods and tedesco and signing nobody. JT would have bent backwards to keep moses and we csn see how he is going with a strong forward pack (still cant tackle and still goes the million dollar play).

Wow you know a lot. Who told you all that?

There is no one here who can say what might or might not happen if JT had been kept around. You know they say about assumptions.

Dont assume I wanted JT retained….it was done all incorrectly as usual
It was merely a timeline.

Moses played well for the Eels today v Dragons. Better than Wests Tigers halves did yesterday.

You are correct there. JT had invested so much in the Big 4 in so many ways that his hands were tied.

I thought that was part of JT's directive, that he had to work with the Divine 4\. The club had so much invested in them that JT was told to use them. That's the difference with the arrival of Ivan, he negotiated control over the players, so he went for performance based. By by divine 4.

IMO the big 4 werent the problem last year.

Teddy was having his best season yet, Woods continued to be Woods and Mitch 'The Scum' Moses was actually our player of the year and deservedly. Brooks was the weak one last year.

The club looks set to collect the spoon it has been working hard towards ever since Sheens was re-signed for the last time.
I had high hopes for this season. I was convinced we'd break our finals drought. It is devastating that it has been sabotaged by the politics of the board and administration pushing out a club legend, then sacking the head coach, a player busted in dodgy betting allagations and three high profile players holding the club to ransom for half a year before all ditching it very publically. Im furious at these people. They deserve the bloody spoon shoved down their throats.
A lot of the players are trying. The problem is that wont matter when others have checked out. Some of the players out there tonight deserve the spoon. The majority do not.

I started to chuck in my two bobs worth and paraphrase Strykers post but decided he said it as well as I could. Will Woods or Tedesco care if WT gets the spoon? Their heads are already elsewhere. The boys out there last night will care and if we win it, it will burn. They put in last night. They might not be an A grade side but they put in.

I personally think we can beat the titans this week. We will beat newcastle the following week and then we have the bye. The next 3 rounds will probably determine whether we are wooden spoon bound or not. Im praying we dont get the spoon.

I'm already anticipating Woods and Teddy using the spoon as justification for leaving, rather than accepting any responsibility.
