The culture of bullying and abuse at Wests Tigers..

As has already been said, we're currently ranked 2nd in player welfare, so what reason was there to publish this if it wasn't to suit somebodies agenda. I think we all can agree Ayoub had a hand in it. This is where Farah needs to step up and sever ties with him. Because if Robbie had a brain or a conscience you would think he would know that this will reflect badly on him and people will suspect he had a hand in this whether he did or not.

Wests Tigers players defend claims of bullying culture at NRL club

WESTS Tigers’ longest-serving player Chris Lawrence says there’s been significant change at the NRL club, but denies there was a culture of bullying as suggested by a damning newspaper report over the weekend.
The Daily Telegraphclaimed a Rugby League Players Association report alleged at least two NRL players considered committing suicide and others had spoken of being bullied at the club.
Centre-turned forward Lawrence, who has played close to 200 games since his debut in 2006, suggested disgruntled former players may have been responsible for some of the negativity surrounding the club.
He stressed the present Tigers culture was good and while there had been changes at the club, that didn’t mean there had been dark days in their past.
“I wouldn’t say dark, ” Lawrence said.
“With every administration that comes in there’s always going to be people coming and going.
“You see it at every club, whether it’s players, coaching staff or administration, people come and go.
“So with that there’s a clean-out of people, there’s always maybe some people that are going to be unhappy about leaving.”

Lawrence emphasised there had been changes across the club in all departments.

“I think you can see with the energy and the vibe around the place that now there’s a good culture,” he said.
While there has been speculation about the relationship between coach Jason Taylor and some of his players, forward Tim Grant had nothing but praise for the Tigers mentor.
“Coming to the club not only JT (Taylor), but (Tigers’ CEO) Justin Pascoe and also the playing group, everyone is so encouraging here and we look out for each other,” Grant said.
“I’ve been at other clubs and I think the Wests Tigers’ welfare and wellbeing is second to none.”
Tigers recruit Jamal Idris said he hadn’t been affected by the report and hadn’t seen evidence of anything bad in his short time at the club.
“I’m in the middle of it and I haven’t seen haven’t seen any of it, that’s coming from someone who is right in the thick of it all,” Idris said.
Readers seeking support and information about suicide prevention can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Chris isn't mincing his words. We all know it's the former player.
Some people can't handle rejection and can cloud their judgement.

There is certainly a multi-level response from the Tigers - official statement, chairperson interview, coach on radio, now player commentary.

What I do find interesting is the player piece with Chris Lawrence, coming from AAP, is being run on news.com.au = News Corp = Daily Telecrap.

Yep. that article from news.com was re hashed from Foxsports.
The Jamal Idris interview on weststigers.com also mentioned the Telegraph story. He quickly shut the journo's down.

This report has been written and is true - that can't really be argued.

It is true that a report has been written.

The rest is up for debate.

So now it's the RLPA that has an agenda against the club? I understand why people are very sceptical about DT articles, but what reason would the Players' Association to doctor a report?

Our club had/possibly still has serious issues with player welfare. Great that thanks to our former footy manager these are being dealt with, but it's made clear that the primary source of this bullying culture is the head coach who remains. Those most likely to have suffered from it no longer play for the club - that is not problem solved, but going off people's comments & the club statement it's problem swept under the carpet.

You do know who was commissioned to write the report don"t you? Just in case you don't know - it was supposedly done by an independent barrister Julieanne Levick who also just happened to be Robbie Farahs legal representative. We all argued about this crap a year ago - look back to the Farah thread. Its old, very old news.

I've made my thoughts on the Farah situation quite clear, but I honestly don't think he would stoop to this level. I don't think he would be happy about Mosese being used to drive a smear story. He may dirty at the club but I just cannot see him wanting to drag Mosese and his family into something like this, and as many others have said, he doesn't have any journalistic control at the DT.

Ayoub on the other hand…

I just can't understand ayoubs motive to do so besides trying to make one of his highest paid clients happy.

And then this whole initial threat came up during the Farah saga and executed pretty soon after Robbie left.

of course Robbie didn't instruct the telegraph but i would definitely put money on this at least being known about when ayoub initially threatened to dish dirt… at a minimum.

...and it would only take one txt msg from Robbie to ayoub to stop it.

Ayoub is a spiteful, amoral, bully. That's what he gets out of it - inflicting hurt and pain where and when he can and to hell with the consequences. I'm sure as a player agent he maximises his client's terms and conditions, but really, why anyone would be prepared to associate with this lowlife is beyond me.

Who knows maybe we are listed as the number 2 NRL club in 2016 in the player welfare department because the players were all coerced into not saying anything  I can't help but laugh at this absurd attack on our club as I may do or say something stupid if I get angry !!!!

If he got cancer, I'd have sympathy for the disease.

A question has just entered by head

I wonder what Robbie's reaction was when he saw the front page of the DT with Mosese's photo sitting there ??

He would have been just as horrified as we were.

I hope so , also hope he gave his manager a mouthful as well

Oh…. how I long to go back to the days of 2 dressing sheds...Glory days....

Marina Go has been utterly inept in dealing with this story. She should live up to her namesake and…..GO!

Absolutely hilarious post.

Seems the culture of bullying and abuse is thriving on this forum.
Without the slightest shred of any evidence Ayoub and Farah have been blamed and degraded for the story and accompanying photo appearing on the front page of one of Australia's biggest newspapers.
Some of you would have gone well on the jury at the Salem witch trials.
The people to get annoyed with are the ones at the Sunday Telegraph who chose to print the story - I wonder how many have contacted them to complain?

You obviously don't know what evidence is or are incapable of drawing an inference if you do not think that Ayoub is in any way implicated. Common sense is a legitimate form of logic, I suggest you start using it.
