Well it was only a matter of time with such a dysfunctional board …the CEO resigns looks like Potters going to be paid out .Wests and Balmain at each others throats ,and the Weststigers fans treated like fodder , Certain people on this forum over the years that never stopped trying to ruin this franchise on both sides looks like have succeeded but the ironic part is no of you will have no one to support you fools!!!

Even if the Magpies take full control, they won't be getting rid of the Tigers name nor the colours, they'll lose a lot of supporters otherwise and only be back in the sorry state they were in prior to the merger.
And the NRL won't want the side to move anywhere given the area it covers.
There certainly needs to be some changes at board level, CEO and coaching staff….....plus a few players moving on before we can move forward again in a positive manner.

Based on financial input the Western Suburbs Magpies probably deserve their own team based in Campbelltown.
In the short term as a new franchise the Western Suburbs Magpies would immediately lose about 70 percent of their current Balmain Tigers/Wests Tigers fanbase. Wests do have a great junior base but would have to gain new sponsorship & a solid financial backing & then apply to the NRL hoping for a new solo licence.
The Balmain football club/ clubhouses (sheds) are in financial ruin & will need a rich benefactor &/or business consortium to replace the current inept management team/structure. The new Tigers club will need to display how it will be financially viable & then hope for the approval of a new Tigers NRL licence. Leichhardt or Concord would be ideal but realistically the club may have to be based outside the Sydney metro area.
IMO the “Magpies” brand name has no or little commercial value so a new mascot name might have to be considered for Western Suburbs.
The “Tigers” brand name is worth millions & as a former Balmain Tigers supporter I will support the Tigers wherever they are based. Harry Triguboff, John Singleton & Co, the Tigers faithful await your master-plan.
