I heard an ad on the radio today describing us as the FIBROS. Youd battle to find a fibro house in mtannan,currans hill glennalpine,ambarvale or rosemeadow.Heaps of fibros in harbord and manly

Plenty around Liverpool and parts of Campbelltown as well. At the end of the day it was a useful ploy used by Masters which suited the era, made things very interesting and captured the publics imagination at a time when there was no need for calls of 'bring back the biff'.

Thats my point,why do they still refer to the weststigers as the fibros.

It's marketing and if it puts bums on seats then it is good for Wests and rugby league. Same thing applies when we play Souths. Someone will get a quote from Ben Elias complaining about 1909 or Bob McCarthy complaining about 1969\. If it adds value, then it is great.

The best thing is that similar to that period in the late 70's and early 80's, Manly/Wests matches are now a premier fixture in the season and even the neutrals get excited. It's great.
