Sigh. Parra didn't "let" Paps go - he actually never got a look in there as HE WAS TOLD directly by Parra he was too small etc and wouldn't make it in their rep program - hence why he shifted from Kellyville/Hills Bulls to Dundas and got a go with the Tigers junior development teams...... during this time he was playing Union at Oakhill when rl allowed.

Isn't being told you have no future there being let go?

Mmm. If I ask Apple for a job and they say no - have I been let go? Or do you actually need to have been employed by someone to be let go?

And to be clear - I think Parra's is the worse of the two - at least someone at WT saw something and gave him a go and developed him to a point. Parra just said a flat no.

Same as a lot of people seem to forget that JAC was a Souths junior who was moved onto Sharks who we picked him up from and gave him his debut. So should Souths and Sharks be publicly crucified for letting a player of JAC's ability slip through their fingers??

They are all keyboard warriors with hindsight. This is the reply i sent them.

Whats with this " let go ". They were off contract and chose to go elsewhere. Addo Carr did the dirty on Wests when he signed with Melbourne without giving Wests the opportunity to put a new contract to him. JAC openly states that he did dirty on Wests. Paps left because he was stuck behind Tedeso and openly states he always wanted to play for Melbourne. And Tedesco was just a scumbag - strung Wests along for 6 months then signed elsewhere by which time Paps had gone. But het lets just make up a story that suits the narrative. Oh and by the way Parra let Paps go as well and Melbourne were shopping him around only 2 years ago and had no takers.

Parra never "let Paps go". He played junior league in their district but never junior reps there. He was a Balmain Junior.

He was a balmain junior that went to Oakhill college and played union for them and league for balmain, Luke Kerry also went to oakhill.

So did my son (in Paps year) and daughter.

Paps played league for Kellyville & Hills Bulls in Parra comp and Dundas Valley in Balmain comp, then Balmain reps

Edit - Hills Bulls not RH as someone said above.

He was very young while at Kellyville & Bulls and would have been tiny.

Good school Oakhill, I went to a school nearby but know Paps family pretty well. I hope he kills it in origin

Do we know he was "told he had no future" or just not selected in the rep teams. In my experience its pretty rare to be directly told you have no future, you just dont get picked.

I can't recall anything being said re parramatta days.
We didn't say he had no future we just didn't try real hard to match melbourne and we had tedesco so he went for opportunity family were disappointed especially after tedesco left
Good luck to him now though premiership winner and SOO player

You obviously have no experience with Parra Jnr League rep teams - they start with summer development squads prior to Harold Matts' at 14/15 and they are brutal with their assessments - most kids are not picked up and told so in not so blunt terms about not wasting their time in coming back. First hand experience with my own who are same age - he was told directly he would not make parra rep teams.

Fittler can't help but put the boot into the tigers - again. And Tedesco with his smarmy comments.....wish they'd both just swim out in big surf at bondi

That Fittler is and irritating IMBECILE
What is wrong with that bloke
Those comments coming from an ex player who had a disastrous time coaching himself, and a player who himself moved clubs really has no right to make these comments, if in fact they are his comments
We cant keep everyone
Paps blossomed after he left
What did thit Fittler bloke expect us to do, offload Teddy
Its easy to make comments in hindsight
Here is a so called origin coach who picks players out of position
How maney fullbacks did he have on the field for Origin
Don't NSW have any good wingers
He has unlimited supply of players to choose from unlike an Nrl team and a cap, as someone before me alluded to
I hate this bloke
The whole NRL is turning out to be a mates issue
Either your in the mates group our your out of the mates group
Anyone else simply doesn't matter and are just fodder
I have always been a NSW supporter but this time for the first time in my life, I HOPE NSW GET FLOGGED
I hope Fittler loses his gig

NEW SOUTH WALES U/18'S the year.. 2016 Paps would have been 18 yrs 12 days at the time.
If you look down the list you’ll see the coach. Maybe, Fittler knows what he’s talking about?

2. Isaac Lumelume, Cronulla Sharks

5. Zac Lomax, Illawarra Steelers

How so..

It's pretty obvious to the discerning eye.

As I mentioned in another post, imo Hartigan and Maguire are heading in a good trajectory. Our best juniors being identified and secured. The best from other areas secured. Coaching appointments made and pathways streamlined. The COE soon to come on line. All commendable initiatives.

I wouldn't like to believe we cannot acknowledge our past failings and learn from them.

Exactly, its almost like certain sections of the NRL media/community are white-anting certain teams to achieve an agenda.... I wonder what that may be....lol:grimacing:
