The Run Home

I can't believe I'm gunna say this and will never again…but Go Souff's...

**Season's over regardless.**

We had the game of our lives vs the Cowboys but as a side we are poor and have played depleted sides to get us with a sniff.
We rely on individual brilliance like Teddy, Nofo, Moses etc. And hail Mary's at times, instead of building pressure and playing the percentages.

I tend to agree with you in that I don't see us making it from here but the equation is simple: if we win our final 3 games and storm beat panthers, we make the 8\. Easier said than done but because we play warriors and panthers we can take points off them in the run home.

Todays loss is huge though. We're probably around a 15% chance from his point I reckon.

Some will find it hard to admit it, but with Teddy gone for the year? We can start planning for next year IMO.

Anyway we have done better than what I thought we would at the start of the year and when Teddy was gone the boys never stopped trying, so as much as it's disappointing….we have a better 2017 to look forward to.

Without Tedesco it will be very difficult, Rankin was solid but there are no other FB's
in NRL that come near Tedesco, correction, maybe Farah (who can play every positon and is 100% goal kicker)

Warriors loss keeps it possible
But realistically without teddy it would be a miracle

Well next week is our grand final. Panthers should beat newcastle taking them to 26 with a much superior for and against.

Next week, Titans have newcastle which they should beat, taking them to 27\. Must win next week to stay alive, otherwise panthers go to 28 and we are 3 points out of the eight with 2 games left. We didnt lay down after tedesco left and brooks should be back, come on tigers.

Regardless of what happens in tomorrows Panthers Knights game, the Tigers will need to get the Panthers next Friday night.

That opens up a huge Round 25\. Tigers v Warriors and Titans v Panthers.

The Warriors wont come close to getting the Cowboys in Townsville next week you would think. Should the Panthers get past the Tigers next week, the 8 is probably decided.

The Knights could really help us. No easy beats at home recently. If they could get either the Panthers tomorrow or Titans next week that could be very helpful. Big ask but surely they are due!

Sure we will miss Teddy. And like everyone I wish him a speedy recovery. But Nofo's current form could well fill the void left by Teddy over these next three weeks.

No chance of the useless knights winning both of those games. So realistically that's season over for us, Farah should be given the opportunity to get to 250.

It'd be hugely disappointing to miss out from here tbh. So many wasted games early in the season that may yet mean this form is all for nought.

The Newcastle away game, Storm at Leichhardt, Eels at ANZ and the Sharks at Cambelltown.

Our form won't be for nought either. Whether we make it or not, we're going to be top 8 at absolute minimum next yr.

I should have clarified - all for nought in 2016.
We absolutely should be a finals team this season.

There'll probably be a few less slots in the eight next season, Manly, Souths and the Roosters & Parra, won't just sit back and accept their position this year, as being okay .
I'd say , that as they seem to have unlimited money, there will be a fair bit of player movement in the offseason , (whether we like it or not)
As for this year, I hope Teddy is not as bad as feared,
Like a number of teams, when their main attacker is missing, their attack is nowhere as effective,
If we have to play without him, so does ours

Thats the problem. You need to take your chances when opportunities arise. We blew ours today.

This year things opened up with Easts, Souths and Manly unexpected collapse.

Parramatta made it a Top 9.

And we still can't crack it. Some teams will rebound next year.

We should be better but things can be very fickle in football. We can't just expect it to happen.

We've had a better second half, but that doesn't excuse the awful displays in the first half.
Hopefully we can bounce back on Friday night.

You can't lose 6 in a row and expect to be a finals player. We were lucky that Parra lost their points and rightly so. You need to be consistent and sadly for the first 10 weeks we were poor. Lessons learned I hope.

With the Titans win yesterday, I think 8th spot is between, Penrith, Warriors and ourselves.

I'll be cheering for the Knights today…...

We are in the position that if we are good enough, we can make it. We have to play Penrith and the Warriors in the next two games, so our fate is in our hands.

Fire up boys......

It's not in our hands unfortunately. We're at the point where we need to start relying on other results.

i don't think so, 3 wins (30 points) - wins against other two teams fighting for the 8 would get us there without other results.

If Knights win today, a win next week puts us in the 8 regardless.

In saying that, the Knights also play the Titans next week, if they can somehow get on a winning streak they will be doing us a massive favour.

yup, 3/3 gets us there
2/3 means we have to pray for some upsets

last game against Canberra will be tough to win, but if we win the next two, I think we have a good chance to make it into the 8.

End result is, if we are good enough to win those games, we are in, if not, then we aren't good enough….simples.
