The extent of this investigation will be interesting.
Waldron & IMO Ribot have had the biggest part to play in this and I think there is no way that Bellamy and the big money players did not know that getting money on the sly from outside sources was a calculated breach.
Anyway there has been a low voice for years about the goings on at the Storm and now it has been exposed.

Even broken down it is the equivalent of a marquee player completely outside the cap

If memory serves me correctly it was 700,000 last season and the penaltyis harsher because of the warning given to clubs after the Bulldogs penalty.
Whether it is bigger is a matter for debate. I think it is safe to say the deliberate and instituionlized effort to cheat had far broader scope in terms of length of time and players involved

Along with everyone else… wow! yeah losing 2 premierships and 3 minor premierships... so what exactly will happen there? no premiership winners for '07 and '09? do the minor premierships go then to the teams that came 2nd? Bulldogs once and Eagles twice.
Some big fines, their winnings from these are to be split up evenly and given to the other 15 clubs, 1.5million or something like that, so we'll get a hundred grand or so.
And no further points this year? what will the players think be thinking, what's the point of playing well? I guess they'll be playing for contracts with other clubs potentially.
The NRL has a historical ladder for breaches, they have us listed this year for using an unregistered player in round 1, who was that?

Kick the sodden cheaters out of the competition for 2 years and that will stop anyone else from thinking about it!…They do it for players!!!!..I hated the Storm before this now I hate them even more!...don't tell me the players and Bellyache didn't know about this either!....I wonder how Scott Prince is sleeping lately??? :smiley:
