i'm just glad the NRL have finally grown a pair - haven't the storm been investigated every year for breeches of the cap and had token fines? about time is all i can say.
i don't think the team that came second will have the premiership - they didn't actually 'win' the game as such, i would imagine it will just be listed as no premiers for those seasons.

that's aimed at the storm, the players who knew, the coaching staff and the administration. Not the melbourne storm fans. They didn't deserve this. I feel deeply sorry for all storm fans.

It has to remain as no premiership awarded.
The makeup of the final 8 and there order is unknown if the Storm were within the cap. The teams would have played a different semi finals series etc

After reading their fans comments you would have to be made of stone not to sympathise with them, the fans that is not the club.

Just to show the repercussions of this in Australian sport, the Herald indicated that Waldron is now the boss of the Melbourne rebels. You can imagine, now, what that does to the Super 15 and SANZAR is Waldron is found criminally guilty.
Its pretty intense atm. I hope they get no crowds for the rest of the season, I hope I see the players spread around the other 15 clubs in the next season, but most of all, I hope this does wonders for our Top 4 chances.

This seems to be far more reaching than the Bulldogs rort of 2002, I've said for a long time that if the Dogs had stayed under the cap at the time then players like Braith Anasta and Mark O'Meley would probably have been at Souths.
So for the last 4 seasons and 2010 inclusive the Storm have had 2-3 players they were not entitled to, so much for a level playing field, no sympathy for the Storm, Brian Waldron seems to have been the Architect behind this and walked at a convenient time.
At the moment the Radio station I'm listening to says expand the salary cap, there would still be cheats if they did.

Lets hope this new found intestinal fortitude the NRL has found is used to check a few other clubs that are rorting the system,
PS - i'm hoping our books are in order.
