If Moltz starts the season at FB…. I can't wait for the complaining to start.

In my mind...

Fullback will be weakened with Moltz in the role, he was a different player when he wore the 7 jersey. His support play from FB left alot to be desired and he didn't command the team around as he should have.

Play Moltz at FB, you weaken the position when we have Brown and McKinnon
Play Moltz in the cneters, you weaken the position given we have Lawrence, Ayshford and Daniella
Play Moltz at HB, you strengthen the position

So where do you play him? Lui is a talent... so was Degois.. you don't just shove talented players into positions for the sake of playing them. **Lui will play second fiddle to Tim, if Tim doesn't perform... Lui gets his chance.**
We do not need a playmaker at FB either imo, we just need someone with excellent support play and safety in the air, especially given our hopelessness last season.

Only if Sheens has changed his mind
**Moltzen was clearly 2nd behind Lui in the pecking order this season.**However, things have changed.
Moltzens had a knee recon, and Lui's had strife with the cops.
Who knows whats in store?
None of us here, thats fo sho

So it wasn't just me who saw Tim in the 1 and Rob in the 7 in RD 1 of 2010!!!!!!!

I agree that the extra depth at fullback + Lui's legal status has changed the landscape since then - but to suggest Lui is just a back-up half at the club is pure nonsense!

Trials will play a big part in naming the RD 1 2011 team!

Mate he played at half because we had no options for FB after those who trialled in the position failed to impress…

Again... he could play half at most clubs... my argument is that he offers nothing over Moltz and the pace Moltz have gives him an edge in the position...

I beg to differ on your opinion of Lui - but I'd also love to see Moltz prove me wrong!

I grew up watching the likes of Stering v Mortimer - a ball-player versus a ball-runner (and Sterling routinely edged him in that period)! As for pace - Sterling was yards slower than Turvey - but he turned his team of champions into a champion team!!!

To me Moltzen is a version of Mortimer - and Lui is a Sterling type (on an overly simplistic level - I know Moltz can ball-play - but I like Lui's natural passing before the line - he threw some sublime short-balls this year)!

Our first choice no. 6 is Benj w/ daylight second (or Moltz) - **and I just want to see the best player chosen to complement Marshall's game!** On that basis - I believe it might be Lui who can slow things down for Farah & Benji (but that needs time for Rob to develop)!!

However - I agree that Moltz is a future superstar and is currently a better all-round attacking threat than Lui!! We just need to get the balance right to make the extra steps in 2011!!!

We will more than likely see both Lui and Moltzen run at 7 in the trials. Lui finished the season with momentum, and his defence was also on the improve. I'm a fan of both players and I REALLY hope that Moltzen hits the ground running quickly, but as we have seen with other players who have undergone knee reconstructions, sometimes it can take them awhile before they find their feet properly again. I'm hoping this isn't the case with Moltzen but I daresay the trials will give us a good indication of where he is at in terms of form and confidence.

Willow - I am also a HUGE FAN of both Moltzen & Lui - and I am just as much a fan of our club having genuine depth in key positions (7 & 1 - we are blessed currently)!

And God forbid that Benji goes down - but Moltz is the best possible replacement in the entire NRL!

Let's just hope that the trials don't claim another victim!!!
