Roosters didn’t want Moma. Why would they change their mind?

They lost Latrell and Billy is injured.
They are trying to get Morris
Momo is arguably better.

Definitely better in the long term but apart from injuries I think morris is better

Plans to trade Tigers’ Paul Momirovski for Storm hooker Harry Grant likely to end up in the NRL’s ‘too hard basket’

Paul Crawley

The potentially historic NRL player swap deal between Wests Tigers and Melbourne is now just days away from being discarded into the NRL’s ever-growing ‘too hard basket’.

Although the Tigers are still clinging to some hope that they can get exciting young Melbourne hooker Harry Grant to the club this year, it has just about reached the critical stage.

It is understood if they can’t get a resolution from the NRL by this weekend then the Tigers will reluctantly have to make a decision to call the deal off.
In what is now becoming a genuine welfare issue for several players, Grant and Tigers’ centre Paul Momirovski’s futures are still up in the air as they await to see if this transfer deal with the Storm will get the green light from the governing body.

While both clubs are keen to make the swap for one year because it would suit their rosters and the players involved, apparently it is being held up because of a salary cap related issue the NRL has with the Storm.
As a result Momirovski has said his goodbyes to the Tigers on several occasions in recent weeks only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

Understandably the situation is taking a toll on him and he just wants to know where he stands.

It would be a similar situation for young Grant in Melbourne who is keen to come to Sydney so he can step out of Cameron Smith’s shadow for this season before eventually returning to take over from Smith at the Storm.

And it is not just these two who have been caught up in the on again, off again transaction.

Moses Mbye is another player who has been severely inconvenienced.Mbye has spent the preseason training to play dummy half but if the deal goes ahead he most likely will find himself in the centres.

With the NRL season kick off now a month away, it is a significant issue that needs to be sorted. At this stage the Tigers are training as if Mbye will be playing hooker while Momirovski, if he stays, will likely get first crack in the centres ahead of young gun Tommy Talau and Robert Jennings.

In the forwards the mail is Russell Packer is the fittest he has been for some time but will still struggle to get the jump ahead of his younger rivals.

Young Thomas Mikaele continues to go ahead in leaps and bounds and is leading the charge for one starting prop position with the likes of Alex Twal, Zane Musgrove, Josh Aloiai and Oliver Clark all in the mix.

Latest position as per below article from the DT.

I was gonna say Crawley alert, but I couldn’t find anything negative about the Tigers in this article. That has to be a first for Crawley.

Disappointing that NRL can't sort this out.

Upsides, at worst, we keep Momo which is a plus, and we put MBye in at hooker and if he fails we give Walters and/or Simpkins a crack which could go well.
And, Storm are down a player they wanted for this year (Momo), which is another plus.

zzz NRL ARE A BLOODY JOKE. Take so long to decide they can’t decide. Couldn’t get a crap to stink! Unbelievable from a professional sporting body. Should be selling raffle tickets in a pub. Their incompetence and reactive governance is absolutely laughable. Where’s the broom?

Storm on a huge decline.
Theyre gonna fizzle.

Cam and Craig walk away from a sinking ship.

Munster turns down captaincy gig.
Prob wants out.
Can see him heading to the dragons.

Disappointing the NRL and Storm can’t figure this out. I feel for Momirovski it must be a pain not knowing where he’ll be this year. Hopefully they still extend his contract.

Hardly suprising that Greenberg is so inflexable.Anything which shows initiative and innovation are unlikely to be part of the agenda while he is in any position of power.

Thought it would be the case.. too hard basket. Shame as it would've been good for both players.

Another brilliant show of proactiveness and forward-thinking by Greenturd and co. Players and fans have been screaming for transfer windows, expansion and better contracting systems, yet every year the NRL use Murdoch's rags to push propaganda as to why none of them will work. Seriously, these guys are ruining the game.

And yet....somehow they still survive! Much like Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon 😂

I thought V'landy just got things done. Another prophet promising a new dawn for the game that turns out to be completely false.

Compared to AFL this is an amateur sport.

I have a colleague at work who is a mad AFL supporter. Every time we chat I walk away convinced NRL is amateur hour compared to AFL

I suspect Crawley is reviving up the Tigers with slit of his articles. I’ll just say this he is closer to the Tigers than appears.

And I was under the impression that this was a “ no DH “ club.

Pretty sure the players union said no as well. As they have done for a few years. Hopefully this is. A moment in time that changes a few things. (Punctuation fail. Can’t be bothered)

I thought I read somewhere that the players union had given it the green light. Can’t find the article though.
