I can’t see how anyone can see this swap as a bad move. We get a very classy no9 in a position we are very weak and arguably the most important position on the field. In return we are sending a potentially good centre to play in a very strong system for a year that play a similar structure to us and we probably have 4 players still on our books who can play centre.

I see the only risk is for Momo, and that is a young guy like Talau kills it this year and there is no gap in the top grade come 2021, but he obviously is backing himself to come back a better player. Of course you never know, if the both are successful and happy the deal could be extended

Because some people are genuinely happy to finish 9th. Momirovski is considered one the good guys of the game so fans dont want to get rid of him. Having likeable players is more important than winning.

The exception being those who highlighted how it impacts our goal kicking. Those guys get a pass mark.

Madge must be happy with finishing 9th as well considering he wants to extend him

Thats a really poor take on what i have said.

Not one bit surprised however.

You weren’t speaking in riddles. It was black and white.

As i said its a poor take. Youve not really understood what i have said.

All god. Have a good one.

Not sure what there was to understand. You said some people are happy to finish 9th and it’s more important for them to have players at the club who are good guys than winning is. Those are your words. But Madge wants him. Idk why you’re pretending what you said has some deeper meaning. It doesn’t

I don't wanna lose. Momo I think we're copping a raw deal here

I don’t know about a raw deal but I’m very concerned about the goal kicking without Momi. Goal kicking cost us a finals spot last year and we finally found a reasonably reliable kicker at the back and of the year only to let him go.

I don't want to loose Momirovski either
But if we get Grant on a swap deal then Osako if we could somehow arrange a release to sign him would be perfect for our last signing
I don't see it happening but it would be great

I am happy with our Forwards
I reckon they will kill it this year
Just think of the back line

Doueihi/Thompson
Nofo
BJ
Mbye
Osako

We still sleeping on momirovski?

Can find the line. And looks to be one of the only players in our side with any sort of pace (from last years squad anyway).

Dudes beating 4-5 guys to find the line in a majority of those tries. Scores a double in his debut in the finals for the roosters. Missed the sitter of a kick against the dogs but didn't kick stones and lose all confidence like Marsters, which I thought showed just how mentally tough and mature the bloke is. Kids a weapon.

The dude is beating 2-3 guys AT the line to score but in ever try someone has put him in space or beaten his opposite with a pass. Mono doesn’t beat one player in general play in that whole highlight reel. It’s a decent reel for a winger. That’s what he looks like there.

For mine a good first grade centre beats his Man in general play with pace or power. I’ve never seen him do that. He is worth a centre spot in first grade but he is our Shane Elford. Struck match between him and Mbye at centre for mine.

"Doesn't beat one player" - you need to go to spec savers.

The love for Momo is so confusing. Lacks genuine pace to ever be more then a good finisher. Would you pass him the ball if you needed someone to break the line or win you a game?? I think the answer to that question is why we are happy to swap him to the storm.

Ok - if you look at the video replay earlier (it was said he doesn't beat one player) - on several of the tries shown he beat 3-4 players to get the ball down.

He is not JAC in the speed department BUT... did I see on the video that he took an intercept about 10-15 metres from our try line and run 80-90 metres to score without anyone catching him. He ain't no tortoise either, has a great football brain and kicks goals (except the ones he misses).

To answer your question: Yes! I would pass him the ball if I needed to win the game, and as the games go by - I would be even more anxious to pass him the ball, because he will be getting even better.

We are happy to swap him with the Storm (for one season only - mind you) (they are looking to extend his contract by two years before the swap, if it happens) because they are desperate for a hooker and they want Momo to be coached by Bellamy so he will come back with a lot more experience playing under the Melbourne system.

Personally think Storm getting Momo and us getting Grant is a loss for us.

Some people just can't see reality once their mind is made up.

Momo was easily our best finisher last season. If you needed to pass the ball to someone to try and beat a few opponents to score you'd pass it to Momo ahead of Nof, Jennings, Mbye, Thompson, Talau. Leilua is the only back we have more dangerous than him.

That being said Mbye isn't a massive way behind, but he's not a proven centre. He hasn't ever beaten 3-4 opponents to score from centre le Momo has. Could he? Perhaps. Hopefully. We need to get some sort of value out of Mbye and Reynolds

It's also almost as if the Storm were waiting for us to pay another month of Momos salary, perhaps 16k, and suddenly they're happy for the deal to go ahead

It was said by me. Go back and re-read my post and look at the highlights video again. I said he doesnt beat one player ***in general play***. He beats a stack of players *at the line* with momentum and good feet. Pretty much as you would expect a winger to do. As I said in my earlier post, I expect a good NRL centre to be able to beat his opposite in general play with either speed or power and then be able to set up someone or go himself. I do not recall Momo ever doing this and he *definitely* doesnt do it in that highlights video. THat highlights video would be a pretty good highlights reel for a winger, not so much a centre.

Will they grant Harry a release?

I think the only reason this would even possibly be back on is is Melbourne are scared of losing him altogether if they don't look at releasing him for 1 season.

Help me out mate, give me a time code on that video where he beats a player in general play (not at the line).

Oh right, you can't score tries unless you beat someone in open play. Beating 3 or 4 players on the line to get the ball down doesn't count.

Thats a wingers job and he does a pretty job of that. Once you are that close to the line, it could be any position, 2nd rower, winger beat a few on the line with momentum and good feet.

I expect a good centre to be able to beat his opposite in general play with either speed or power then set up of go yourself. Momo has never done this. Good centres do.

I don't care if he never beats a player in open play - I'll just take all the tries he scores.

You dont care that our centre cant beat a player in open play? I do. Put him on the wing otherwise.

Guess Latrell Mitchell scores a lot of tries that don't count either.

Are you kidding? Are you saying Latrell hasnt or cant beat his opponent in open play? Did you watch Tigers v Roosters last year?

Which one of us is off to specsavers?

I don't know but I reckon You'd be save with odds of 100 k -1 of something happening before Rd 1 ...unfortunately

Walters needs to find another level if he is the new 9 ....the last 9 was old but he still packed a punch ...very big shoes to fill imo

Momo is our best goal kicker, who would replace him?

The player who wins the kick off I hope the club has been working on since November

I'm confused at the love fest for Momo too. Don't rate him at all. Some even saying that we need him because goal kicking cost us games last year. That may be true, but wasn't he the guy who kicked 1 or 2 out of 5 against the bulldog, including shanking one almost in front to get us to extra time....and crouched to the ground embarrassed and was consoled by the opposition.......and we want to keep him for his kicking....????

Was one of his first games as kicker. Smashed it after that and was great to see it didn't continue to haunt him.

Momo is a good footballer,he ended last year very well, even though you have selected the missed goal against the dogs to compare his goal kicking ability he was given the job because nobody else could do it....he probably felt gutted to have missed that goal and let the team down, however he like everyone else on this earth isn't perfect,,I recall the great J.Thurston kicking for a decider against Broncs I think and it hit the crossbar or upright and miss..he was a seasoned kicker....
Im not going to bag Momo for missing a couple,he will do much better if he has been practicing in the off season and if he is the chosen kicker....

Yep that's the difference, he bounced right back and didn't let it get to him. In that sense, the opposite of Esan Marsters.

No one appears confident of suggesting a decent possible goal kicker in our ranks to replace Momo, Without a decent goalkicker we will be the clown team of the NRL.
