Here's the million-dollar question - if Grant comes and slots into starting hooker, do you choose JRey or Billy Walters on the bench? Walters is a legit half and, as far as I've seen, a decent hooking option. I can't see why you'd choose JRey except for experience; I think B Walt is a superior bench option, to sub in for Grant.

I think you've answered your own question here and to me it's a no brainer. Reynolds has to have the season off as Canterbury cup isn't going ahead.

Its going to be tough on many teams, especially those with injuries this year, if their reserves aren't actually match fit.

I know CC is suspended but I wonder to what extent they can still play football informally.

Surely some opposed session will be done. Lucky for us our head coach and head of performance coach are two of the best around so our reserve players should be fitter than a lot of other clubs players.

It's pretty bad isn't it. Can you imagine being in Reynolds position. The guy deserves a break but where do you play the guy ?

Arguably the codes' most unlucky footballer. Played Origin, then key injuries, fake pregnancy and dropped charges, he works his way into fitness and selected in first-choice side, then COVID-19 drops and his club secures the NRL's first ever loan deal for an elite junior, at his expense, to be relegated into a comp that is postponed.

It's not about fitness, they've had all preseason to do fitness and opposed sessions. You can't accurately simulate real-world competition.

I don't understand the gushing around Walters for at best an average game, but hey, if you guys are happy with that level of nine, then who am I to argue.

Yeah ...he not in the same ball park as the bloke we had last season

Brooks or Benji wouldn't have got the ball that early last year.

He was a far better defender ...Walters got pushed off regularly on Sunday

Farah was always one of our weakest tacklers. Whether or not Walters can keep it up is my only concern.

I can't remember having that many tacklers better than Farah tbh. You don't make 50+ tackles against Queensland if you're weak at it.

Early days but Farah Walters

????

Obviously, but when very few of the other injury cover/depth players at other clubs have match fitness either, our general fitness being better than theirs is a boost. Plus having quite a few experienced guys as our depth helps too, they’ve already played plenty of first grade and can cope with playing their first few games better.

It's pretty rough isn't it. I know he is getting paid really well but it'd be hard not to get down.

Pretty sad when you put it like that. He's best chance for a few more years is another club. He still offers something to a team. Bulldogs sure could have used him tonight

I agree they've got nothing in attack, to think of the attacking players they let go.

So, seems like it's finally happen. Do we think Momo drops out of the 17 the week then?

Surely MCK comes in for him

Yea that's what I'm thinking too

You guys are going to have to realise eventually that MCK is a plodder !

Unlike what most think a fit Reynolds is a positive for this team .. has the track record and runs on the board re NRL experience. The way many talk of the younger guys I find interesting ..when the hammer comes down I know I would want Reynolds in the team other than inexperienced green horns!

So the guy who forced an error against the Broncos to get us a set or the guy who got an offload away to continue the movement against Souff's had nothing to do with it...ok..

i never meant it like that.. worded my post wrong.

of course it wasnt just him, Mikaeles offload was a thing of beauty to keep it alive

all i was trying to say, was that Chee Kam produced a few superb efforts in a number of games, so i dont think he is a plodder
